    Default Vacation ideas

Next June, hubby and i will be celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary and we'd love to go away somewhere fabulous for about 8-9 days. I think we managed to convince my parents to stay with our kids for the duration so I'd like to book something soon before my parents have a chance to change their minds. ( 2 year old twins and a dog who thinks he is a baby)
We've gone pretty much everywhere in the Caribbean so I'd like to visit some place different. Any recommendations?

I'm absolutely dying to go to Tokyo!!!!!! Hubby said he isn't interested because he caught me watching Andrew Zimmerman and all the crazy food that is eaten there. I promised him that I wouldn't make him eat anything strange (yeah right lol) but he still refuses.
But I would go to Tokyo in a heartbeat!!! Maybe I can convince my BFF to go one of these years.

They eat plenty of normal food as well such as pizza and lots of noodles and rice dishes and there are whole restaurants called "yakiniku" that is all grill your own meat. Plus there are McDonald's and Starbucks here too. Plus I live in Tokyo.

I would have recommended Caribbean cruises but you're all set there - so on my europe cruise we went to Italy, Croatia, Monaco, and Spain. I'd avoid italy, But croatia and Spain were really cool. Also people rave about the Greek isles, like Mykonos and Santorini. Perhaps french wine country like burgandy too - (or napa in california) as a romantic option. Lots of castles in France - and they are friendly as long as you stay outside of Paris.

If money is no object, I would look into going to Alaska! You can do a boat tour or one like my parents did. Mom hates boats, gets sick, so they did a driving/flying tour. They said it was amazing.

If you're looking for somewhere not so exotic, my favorite spot is http://www.jekyllisland.com/

We stayed here on our first anniversary. http://www.jekyllclub.com/?NCK=jiws They have really neat romantic packages that include bike rentals and such. It was wonderful.

Also, Mustang Island in TX is really great too. I'm so jealous! It's been YEARS since we've even thought about a vacation. We usually go home to visit family if anything. While fun, not very adventurous!

In early June it's warm and humid, versus July through sept it's HOT and humid. if you came late march you'd get to experience cool weather and the CHERRY BLOSSOMS! The cherry blossoms, or Sakura, are truly something everyone should see once
