    Default Pears anyone? PLEASE!!!

So tired! Had an all day art show yesterday which was PHENOM! Then today picked a bushel of pears, made 4 loaves of pear bread, pear pie, 6 mini pear pies, and a whole dehydrator full of pears. I still have two trees hanging low with pears and about 25 apple trees with ripe apples too! There is NOT enough time in the day for an orchard and one chic trying to do it all. And I still have to finish my homemade chicken noodle soup on the stove tonight! Anyone wanna come over for dinner and desert tonight?

lmao Jessica! I finally convinced my husband that I couldn't work a full time position and deal with the house as well. Thank God. I used to work 50 hours a week and do this too. talk about crazy. If you have any more idea of what I can do with pears, please tell me! I'm running out of things. I think I'm going to try to make some Pear Butter. Never done it, but doesn't hurt to try I guess.

I know the feeling! I went straight into the corporate world after dancing (talk about a culture shock) and was working 40+ hour week. After I had my boys, we decided it would be best for me to be a stay at home mom. Now it's all about food network and Sesame Street!
I love sweet stuffing in chicken or duck so I'd try making a pear stuffing. A pear jam or chutney would be great as well.

Have you looked into canning? If you use a hot water bath canner (perfect for fruit) the supplies are inexpensive and you may already have some of them. If you're burned out on looking up recipes and tired of looking at pears, you could always simply can pear slices for later recipes.
I'm a fan of this website:

but if you have a day or 3 to blow in front of the computer, you could look up 'canning' on Pinterest.

noms, i <3 pears. if i was where you lived i would come a knockin!
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

I had this issue with plums this summer, luckily my husband ate most of them off the tree. Here's some suggestions:

Apple and Pear sauce! It's so good. All I do is bake the pears and apples until super soft, mash and then stir in a bit of cinnamon, nutmeg and a couple spoons of brown sugar.

    Pear pancakes with ginger syrup!

Cut up pears and nuts in oatmeal.

Simmer the pears in port for dessert and serve over ice cream.

    A good resource:
