    Default New Nipple Piercing

I have a question and I tried searching but didn't get the answer I was looking for. I got my nipples pierced a few days ago. My question is, should I wait a while before going back to work? I took a break and was looking forward to going back. But now I'm thinking it might be more likely to get infected if I'm constantly exposing my nipples. Those of you with your nipples pierced, did you go back to work right away or wait for it to heal some? Thoughts/Experiences on this woud be appreciated..thanks so much!

Depends on the contact level of your club. If no one touches your breast or nipples you should be fine.

^^This. If you aren't rubbing your breasts on customers, you should be fine. I got my nipple pierced a month before I started dancing and I worked in a club where you rubbed your breasts in customers' faces all the time and there was a lot of sensual rubbing during dances. Even with a month of being careful with it before dancing, it never healed properly and I had to take it out 4 months later when it started rejecting. I've never had any problems with any other piercings, so I'm pretty sure it was the contact level at my club that did this one in. However, if you don't do breast-rubbing while it's healing, I think it should be fine. The amount of time you'd have to take off to make sure it's 100% healed wouldn't be realistic (it can be up to 6 months or more for a nipple piercing). Just be careful. You also might want to ask for barbells. I'm not sure on the legitimacy of this, but I got a ring and a coworker of mine got barbells and she said her piercer specifically gave them to her because she knew she was a stripper and said they would heal better and faster. And they did heal rather quickly and nicely.

Mine never healed right for the above mentioned reason. I would second the recommendation for barbells as well.

Ooh ooh. I adore piercing questions because I'm a piercer (on the side these days)!!

    So.

You can absolutely go back to work, but there are a few things to consider.

    1. Barbells ARE much easier to heal, but seeing as you are already pierced, leave the jewelry that you have in for at least 2 months. Then change to barbells.

    2. If you are in a no-contact club, you are pretty much golden.
    - Be careful to avoid them when touching yourself, obviously....and pop up to the dressing room to clean them once or twice a night - just with some warm water, maybe a little mild soap. It'll help clear off any gunk, so that if you do catch them, it won't do so much damage, and it'll help prevent germiness.
    - Steer clear of corsets - stick to bra-based costumes. Loose fabric (especially the stiff stuff of corsets) rubs up against them and will irritate the heck out of them, while tighter costumes will stay still, support them, and cause far less irritation.
    - Be careful when taking costumes off, that you don't catch the jewelry. Be equally careful of your HAIR! Flipping your hair back when it is in front of your nipple can catch the jewelry, and DAYUM does that hurt.
    - When you are on stage, try not to do any floor work that would rub them, or pole work that would do the same. Not only would it irritate, it can cause infection.

    3. If you are in a contact club, you can still work, but you WILL have to tell customers that they can't touch them. Most guys are pretty understanding - esp if you offer up your ass instead!! Or put your hands over your nipples and let them grab the boob around it, or over your hands. You can still put their face in your cleavage, and that should be enough. You should still be cleaning once or twice a night with soap and water, but don't over clean!!! If you ran up and washed them between customers, you would do as much harm as good.

Hope that helps! PM me if you want - I am always happy to answer piercing and tattoo questions!

I went to work the next day. I told custys to keep their hands to themselves and mouth closed. I also told them they were freshly pierced. It made the gentleman keep their mouths closed so well that I've often used the fresh piercing line when I get a mouthy man.
I suppose working or not would depend on your pain levels as well. I have a high tolerance so it didn't bug me that bad, but I've had friends that wined for several days about it.
Also, don't wash with soap at work. It will keep them wet, I only did mine in my shower 2-3 times daily. While at work I would use the liquid piercing solution, making sure to slide the barbell outas far as it can go on both sides and sanitise it. I'd do that every 2-3 hours, any longer and the barbell might tighten up and it's a bitch to push out after. Plus you risk the possibility that it might ooze and look gross.

Thanks for all the responses! My piercer didn't know I was a stripper but she insisted I got the barbells, thank goodness. It seems to be healing nicely and I'm pleased with how they look. Most of the clubs in my town are light or no contact so i should be good to go.
