Default Advice on Clubs in Los Angeles?

So, I'm considering auditioning to a few clubs here in LA. But (there's always a but) I'm not really sure where to start. I've gone to a few places, called a few places, looked up reviews on the club lists, looked up LA threads here on this forum, googled a few places, and I'm still sorta nervous and unsure.

    Problem 1.

I don't have a car. I know, I know. I moved out here for Uni and my car died on the way. 2 years ago, meaning if I want one, my day job isn't cutting it. Meaning saving up for one isn't an option, unless I wanna start dancing at like fifty . That does mean that the club I choose needs to be relatively close to my home base. I live on the west side. I'd like to keep cab fare, and time spent in cab with stranger of a cabi to a minimum.

With that in mind, I've been looking at a few clubs. Deja vu Main, Deja Vu Hollywood, 7th veil, Skins, 4play, Bare Elegance LAX, Silver Reign are all within reasonable Taxi-ing distance to my home. There's been some good things said about Bare Elegance, and the management seemed really nice when I called and spoke with them. It's probably the furthest option, but they seemed the friendliest. I didn't care for the management of Deja Vu on Main, they asked me to come in, then couldn't see me because they had an event that night, asked me to come back, couldn't see me because the manager wasn't actually in that night... told me to reschedule, I never did. But they're the closest :-/

I'd really love to find a decently run, low mileage club, where there aren't blowjobs in the VIP, haha. If that's possible.

Andddd my last concern is that while I'm fit, and pretty, and a classically trained dancer: I've got big naturals, G cup, they sit well, are perky (size considered) and I'm a ginger -dies-. I don't know if somewhere like 4play would even look at me, because I'm not a tall, implanted c-cup blonde. Not hating on ladies that are, you're beautiful . But if you've ever seen a real ginger with a fake tan, we all know that's not gonna fly .

So basically if anyone has any input, I'd love to hear it. And yes, the carpet does match the drapes .

What part of town are you in? Because the difference between BE and DVHollywood is like a $50+ cab ride.

I worked at Bare Elegance for a long time. It will always have a soft spot in my heart. The managers are really great. I don't know how it is money wise there right now, but the dances are expensive ($51 for a single nude dance) although the club never was one that got a ton of foot traffic.

People really do need to stop asking about "low mileage clubs" in LA. There aren't any. But that doesn't mean YOU have to reduce yourself to giving extras.

<3 thanks Fiona. I'm in Ktown. BE is by far the furthest of the clubs I was looking at, but it's also sort of my favorite for the moment. I sort of need to get over that I think though, and decide if it's really a possibility. I can't get a car this year even if I hustle my butt off, because with any luck I'll get accepted to a school out of state and won't even be able to take my car with me. (Fingers crossed). There is also no way I'm taking the bus, even in broad daylight the nearest stop is something like a third of a mile from the club, no thanks.

I'm not familiar with the LA club scene, I had some friends that danced in Portland, but in LA I don't know anyone who does. I just had seen people keep referring to it as high extras and was hoping that it was only a few clubs and not the whole city. xD Ah well.

There are a lot of posts on these boards about LA. Definitely spend some time weeding through them. The only thing I can tell you for sure is NO TO DVHollywood. When they first opened I went over there for a night from another Deja Vu because the club was low on dancers and it was probably the saddest excuse for a club that I've ever seen. It's new, and I think in time it will be a great club (the location is AMAZING) but it doesn't seem worth it right now, in my opinion. With that said, I've been bouncing around from club to club and the biggest factor in how much money I make has been my attitude, rather than how many customers are in the club.

Also...the bus system isn't really that bad! It's definitely safe to take during the day (and it shouldn't be hard to find a girl to take you home or to call a taxi).

If you live in Koreatown maybe you should try to look at working at a karaoke bar/host bar. Although it's not stripping, I have heard that the money is good if you're slim and work well with Asian men. I'm sure there's some touching involved but not the same as what's generally expected of dancing in LA. Like she said, there's no low mileage clubs. if you have very stringent standards you will either have to loosen them up a bit to make money in LA, or get very lucky with your caliber of customers. Also, the money in LA is not great in general (in my experience)... You have to work pretty hard to make a higher scale income. Maybe I was just not lucky. But I have a feeling that if you checked out some of the bars that I mentioned you might be able to make the same amount of money in tips as you would dancing.

Thanks for both your answers. <3

Bunni -- I would look into bars, but I'm not 21. So... haha. I don't think I'm stringent per se, but I certainly won't be having sex, or giving blowjobs, getting finger banged, etc etc in a Champagne room. If that's too stringent for LA then I may be SOL. If I wanted to do that I'd be an escort and make better money at it xD.

I think I'm going to check out The Body Shop, Deja Vu Main, and Bare Elegance LAX next week. I'll let you guys know if I decide to apply/audition. I'm also going to look into some of the host clubs, I think they're 18+. Wish me luck.

As always, any input is welcome!
