^^^ True. Just to add. From personal experience and pushing 40, I think it's better to work in a more upscale club when a dancer is 40 and over. A club that is more of a nightclub atmosphere with high traffic made out of young barhoppers, and at least 50% customers being young women, will not be the best option, because the younger generations now think it's cool to be rude and make fun of the dancers, especially those older than them. Upscale clubs are more sensitive to disrespect.
Having said that, there are tons of older dancers and most of the time they are top earners, even with the drastic change in the business in the last 10-15+ years. Gym/diets/cosmetic treatments are a must, although I look at it as a good thing, not only you're doing it for the job, but it will be of great benefit in personal life.
