Default FAO Melonie/ex uni students/about student loans

I read on another post about having to put down my own earnings (from camming, and a little part time job) as well as my parents when applying for student loan etc. I totally didn't think about this :/

I'm applying for uni this year. Is it possible to write in my earnings behind their back after my parents have filled in their income form?
    Any advice or help :/?

If you're in the UK then your parents forms are completely separate from yours anyway so it doesn't matter when you fill it in.

You either create an online profile and fill it in there (you fill in your section, which is password protected, and your parents each have a password protected section to fill in too!) OR you each have your own 'info pack' sent out to fill in and send back; so either way they never have to see your info.

    Hope this helps you

    Also, just to add...

Incase your parents are nosey (or 'helpful') and want to see your section, you only have to fill in your income (i.e. £10,000 per year) so you don't even have to state where the money has come from

For US college students under age 24, the parents must fill out the one and only FAFSA student grant / loan eligibility form. That form must list 'total household income' ... meaning the parents' income plus the student's income plus the income of anybody else living in the house ... and must be signed by the parents.

Is it possible for a college student dancer or camgirl to simply 'forget' to tell her parents that she has earned $10-20-30,000 or whatever, such that the parents send in the FAFSA form listing only the parents' income ... sure it is. But when the IRS computers and FAFSA computers cross-check against the student dancer / camgirl's social security number, if any W2 or 1099 automatic income reports submitted to the IRS by strip clubs or webcam hosts listing payments to a person with that social security number will be found in milliseconds. IRS computers will also find / FAIL to find a tax return filed by the student dancer / camgirl a few milliseconds later.

If a dancer / camgirl tax return has been filed corresponding to the W2 or 1099 income, the IRS probably won't pursue the matter further ... but FAFSA will. If omitting the dancer / camgirl's additional income from the FAFSA application form resulted in a student grant / loan to which the person would not have qualified if the W2 or 1099 income was added to the 'total household income' listed on the FAFSA application form by the parents, FAFSA will definitely seek immediate repayment. Technically this amounts to 'fraud' on the part of the parents who signed the FAFSA application ... but this is never prosecuted. However, a FAFSA 'alert' may prompt the IRS to audit both the parents and the student dancer / camgirl. And obviously if the student dancer / camgirl did not submit a tax return, an IRS audit of both the parents and the student dancer / camgirl is a virtual certainty ( due to questions about legitimacy of the parents claiming the dancer / camgirl daughter as a dependent ).

Obviously, this issue is handled differently by other countries.
