    Default Minimize bruising

    Hi everyone,
I am very new to this, and was wondering if you had any tips to minimize bruising from your knees down from the poll? I know with experience I will get less bruises, but any tips to help now? I would love any help.

^This. Also, have a look through the threads in Body Business and there might be some more info there too. I've found that a vitamin K supplements and a rutin/bioflavonoids (strong viamin C) tablets help. If the bruise is new and you have the time when you get home from work to do so, then icing and elevating it will help and ibuprofen will reduce the swelling. Other than that, I personally found that rubbing vinegar on the bruise helps it fade faster (I use apple cider vinegar because it's smells nicer). Wearing knee high pull-ups may also be a good idea until your body gets used to being thrown around the floor and pole .

Hirudoid cream to heal faster. This is one of those little intiations we all had to go through.

Most of my body toughened up eventually from pole/floor work but my legs & knees never have. Tall leather boots w/ 2 to 3 layers of nice cushy athletic socks underneath that go over the knee; Iron/K/C & potassium supplement as well, these w/ ibuprofen daily like a dose of religion. On my days off I take it nice & easy. This doesn't completely eradicate the bruising but I'd say it cuts it down immensely, along w/ the pain in the knees. Vinegar helps fade them faster.

I like arnica gel. I feel that it is more effective than the cream.

You can prevent bruising by staying up on your supplements! i had the same problem and my nutritionist said it's a deficiency in Vitamins C, K, and E, and Zinc. i only bruise now if i REALLY hurt myself, even then it's not PURPLE and heals in a matter of days!
