Smiley Gown shops NYC or resources online?

    Hi beautiful girls!

Does anyone have any new info about where to buy gowns in the NYC area, or a reliable not-too-slow website, OR a designer like that old polka-dot-dress something link that used to be posted somewhere here by a member who is now banned (beautiful gowns but MySpace doesn't work anymore). I've had other girls tell me things when at work in various clubs - like a girl who used to go to a cheap prom store somewhere and then cut the gowns up to make them stripper-sexy, and another girl who swore by doing something similar with stuff from Marshalls/TJ Maxx. I never had much luck with the latter two approaches. Another girl also once told me there was a cheap place in Queens at the end of one of the train lines (I want to say Sutphin blvd)

Anyway, I hate to be cheap but the gowns in say Empire Exotics run from $100 (and that's a low-ball/lucky day) to more like $130-$150...which is fine theoretically, but my club has high house fees, is gown only (i.e no short dress days) and it is very much standard to do A LOT of dress changes. The house moms there sell some gowns which I have bought, but not great and not great discounts either, and I would not exactly classify the gowns in any of these places as good quality. Hopefully some of you feel differently and can give me some pointers, but I feel like if I bought a dress for social purposes and spent $130 I would probably feel like it was at least decent quality, whereas some of the gowns I bought for $100 are downright cheap in terms of fabric and badly made etc.

Maybe it just is what it is, but just wanted to make sure I am not missing out on some great secret resource!

The lady (named Lindsey) from polka dot has ripped a lot of dancers off, including me. She got fired at the club she was working at bc she didn't pay her fees and she ripped off some dancers. It's a shame, she was the best. I'd like to find someone with the same talent or better.

Someone told me she was a meth head and moved out of NJ/NYC.

Wow Vyanka, that sucks. I agree, it seems like such a missing niche in the market - I'm sure there are some great young FIT designers who get wholesale deals on fabric, have talent and would be glad to make some money!!

Wow, I just checked out the thread posted by Whirlerz. I love the Kamala gowns - now, I don't mind paying $150 for something like that!!

Oh wow, Kamala is in NYC...and not too far from where so many LIC strip clubs used to be on queens blvd. I wish I knew about them when i was dancing.

the queens place is called Star fashions on queens blvd. They do have a lot of gowns but Empire has better ones IMO. Star also sells inexpensive stripper shoes, crystal jewelry, pasties, costumes & stockings.

Tic tac toe on W4th has some nice stuff too, but a little overpriced.
It's not about what you do for a living, it's about who you want to be.
