Default ok, conventions are good--but which ones?

    hi ladies.

i've been reading through a lot of these forums and i've noticed a lot of veterans/traveling dancers keep mentioning conventions. i figure you can do a google search to find out when they're going on, but which ones do you think are good to work, and which ones would you avoid?

for example, i'd like to travel to denver soon and i googled conventions going on in the near future. there's a women's vision foundation in denver oct 26th which, to me, doesn't sound like it would be too profitable. but then there's things like the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Expo in November--do you think that would attract money-spending types?

    thanks!

that definitely make sense, but i'm on this website: ( http://denverconvention.com/events ) and the only medical conventions i've noticed coming up are for endoscopy (sales, actually) and diabetes. the rest of them are a mixed group of events that i'm not sure what kind of people they'd attract. although the denver boat show/dental conventions sound like they could be promising...

Yeah, it doesn't look like anything particularly lucrative is heading to Denver any time soon. I wouldn't necessarily hold off on your trip because of that though, as conventions often bring more girls as well, and it can be tricky to get hired if you show up at the same time as all of them.

thanks, shanna. do you you think if i'm hired during an "off-time," they'll be more receptive to me coming back during conventions? or do they have so many girls that the won't remember?

this is all assuming i'm not too fat for denver! o_O

Yup! Preference will *usually* always go to house girls, but if you've worked in the club before, you'd still have a leg up on the girls who have literally just shown up at the club along with the convention, simply because the club knows you're not going to be any trouble and will make them money.

An added bonus of going during a non-convention time is you get a better feel for the club and the girls, and might even be able to pick up some info on which conventions are good/bad/neutral.

In SF we have a lot of conventions for IT/ computer stuff. If you work at the gold club, it's great. But If you work in North Beach, not so much. IDK about the TL clubs however.
IT guys may not spend huge amounts, but I've gotten anywhere from a few table dances, to a lower end CR.

It's very hard to get hired in Denver if you don't live local. They're contract is weird. I've been going in 4 years and sometimes I just show up and they aren't real keen. I even called the mens club in Raleigh because they just bought it and thry tolkd me no go being out of state since they're contract requires 3 days a week.

Im in nola, everyone depends on conventions. try to find the attendence figures-a convention Of 700 may not be worth traveling for, but 30,000 could be. Id Like to hear others experiences, the really wealthy doctors are one Of the most loathed groups here by cabbies, dancers, resteraunts etc (cardiologists, plastic surgeons etc) seems the more money they make the stingier they get, plus they are cocky & arrogant, wasted alota my time recently. In general optomitrists are good, oil n gas folks, guys who do underwater welding make a ton & are generous. I hear the bush co in alaska can be great, but i think Summer, right at the end Of Summer is their up season. Conventions up your chances, but research which ones before headin out.

Yes oil and gas guys are the best. The dermatology convention sucks, the dental one is good, plastic sugeons suck! I always did well for the resteraunt on in chicago!
