I'd like the second the d-mannose. I'd been dealing with chronic utis for the last 4 years. I'd been to doctor after doctor but no one could figure out what was wrong. Changing my diet and taking d-mannose everyday is the only thing that has help. I used to get a uti every 1 or 2 months and it has almost stopped them all together. I still get them from time to time, but when I feel like I might be getting one I take a few more pills and most of the time it stops it from becoming a full-blown infection.
I highly recommend d-mannose to anyone dealing with uti issues.

yup, thirding the D-Mannose. Great stuff. Every woman and some men should keep this in their medicine cabinet.

I once had a UTI that got so bad it turned into a kidney infection. At that point I couldn't even drink juice or gatorade because my kidney was so shot. Just suck it up and get antibiotics before it becomes something worse!

I've never heard of D-Mannose. Off to google. I'll be back in 3 hours haha

I've used cranberry to ward one off as it starts, and that's pure juice NOT cocktail with the high fructose corn syrup. Once it gets rolling you have to step it up with stronger meds/methods though.

^Agree. When ever I felt a uti coming along, I immediately pick up a pint of 100% cranberry juice, no sugar added. I drink it with alkaline or distilled water to flush out the toxins. I've done this twice this year and it honestly works for me. I usually like sour foods and drinks so I didn't mind it. Do not add sugar or anything else to sweeten the juice. If you have to dilute it with water.

Azo tablets at Walgreens works. I also have a home remedy I use at home that kills the pain completely in about 30 to 45 minutes when you start drinking it, but it doesn't taste all that swell. You take a large, big bottle of water & put 2 tablespoons of baking powder & about 2 or 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar & mix it up in the bottle -continue to drink this concoction as needed for the pain. It works!

Best prevention for UTI- drink water. Kinda hard for bacteria to crawl up your urethra when your peeing every hour.

i agree that cranberry juice and azo have warded off the first signs of a uti. but its like taking vitamins and drinking oj at the beginning of a cold. once its fully there, those remedies do nothing.

D-Mannose works wonders! It has eliminated symptoms for me in a few hours. It used to be so cheap - like $5 a bottle but now so many people know about it it's $20. Better than a trip to the doc and antibiotics though!

i just got my first full blown std for the first time today. highly unpleasant! i've been drinking a ton of water, cran juice doesn't seem to do anything..i've also been taking AZO. if it persists I'm going to go the doctor for antibiotics..the water and azo really helps tho!

I JUST got a uti and was running out of dmannose. Read up on earthclinic about adding baking soda to water to alkanize the system and it seems to be working even though my diet otherwise hasn't been great. I bought a bottle of apple cider vinegar too just in case since mixing that in water seems to popular too but thus far the baking soda works fine.

I disagree, i think cranberries are a wonderful thing in preventing and combatting utis. But I would say they are probably more effective in preventing UTIs. I am a big fan of using food as medicine rather than supporting big pharma companies that make synthetic drugs (and put god knows what in them). I love reading about what indigenous people used to ward off illnesses and bacterias and try to research that as much as I can and cranberries were used in fighting and preventing uti's and other bacterias within the body. So all I am saying is I wouldn't cancel it out and just be cautious when you read medical studies denouncing certain things because you have to question their motives and their financial interests - empirical and scientific research are often maniupulated now a days by huge corporations and politics.

a couple Tablespoons of baking soda in a glass of water will help. Ive given this bit of info to so many people since i moved to the states. In NZ they package it and call it ural specifically for uti
