Default Better computer does NOT always = perfect encoder!!!

I now have an Asus i7 - a real top of the range beauty... and an upload speed below 1 mbps (yeah I know). The encoder still fucks up just as bad because of the internet.

So, before you put all your eggs into the i7 basket straight away, see how good (or bad) your internet is.

Thats your internet doing that though. Not your computer. Obviously better internet speed is most important, but take it from someone who has super fast internet that the encoder will eventually start to lag and time out your feed with a black screen if you're using an i3 or a less powerful i5.

However, I have heard several bad things about i7 Asus laptops from cam girls. I will not be buying one.

I love my Asus, but I'd never use any laptop as my main camming computer. There's just no way to cram those components into a tiny box like that and expect it to perform like a desktop can. I have one for occasionally doing shows outside the bedroom but for my normal day to day camming I always use a powerful desktop.

Im looking into getting a new computer, and have been considering getting a desktop. I like being able to move my laptop around to cam anywhere I want in my home, and also since I tour, I would start traveling with my laptop again to cam from my hotel room. So Im sort of on the edge, back and forth. All the same, Ive been using laptops for so long, over 5 years now, that I will probably feel like its a whole new world Ariel-style to use a desktop again.

I was looking at those all in one desktops (not apple) but not sure about the reviews Im reading about them, and afraid they are just too new, kinks arent all worked out with those yet. If anyone has any suggestions for me, please share!
Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink!

Yep. It all depends on upload speed. I only get half a Mbps...
I can't stream very well with the encoder and it ruins everything for me. (I get poor ratings when I use it).

My philosophy is just this: If it works, is stable and I can travel with it, I'll use it! XD

I'm on my second Dell XPS. I had an I5 before and now I have an I7. No problems with the encoder at all
