    Default Tantus Hank Vs. Mark?

    Hi Ladies,

I need to upgrade my toys, especially since I became irritated with this cheapo rubber lifelike dildo I bought about a week ago. I'm trying to decide between Tantus's Hank or Mark ---- anyone have one or both that can offer their opinion - they both look so pretty and I'm so indecisive.

I have the tantus hank and its rough. Its nice looking but its dull so it doesnt keep lubed very well. I rarely use it...which sucks cuz its kinda expensive.

I also have Hank. It's alright... it's sorta short, I also find it doesn't stay lubed up very well. It's not very soft either and it doesn't bend very well like my other realistic ones.

I'm looking for a new realistic one that is on the thinner side... I just got a new one that is way too thick for me and it was super expensive so that sucks.

Anyone know of any good realistic ones that are not too thick? Like... average person cock size?

Well, I ordered Marc so hopefully he does me good I'll report back. I think Marc is a little slimmer than Hank.

    1.3 diameter I believe.

The one killing my vag now is 1.7 cheapo rubber power smelling piece of shit and is too thick for me which is probably 50% of the problem- I knew better than to use it.

My favorite line of toys: http://www.vixencreations.com/vixskin.php

Expensive as hell but worth every penny.

They are made of medical grade silicone. Totally body safe. They have this new way of "cooking" it ? (I guess that is the word) the outside is a squishy silicone and the inner is a harder silicone. It feels like a real cock. Bendable. Doesn't hurt my vag.

The one annoying thing is that they do pick up hair, dust, etc. all the time. im constantly boiling them to keep them clean.

    All shapes colours and sizes.

If you are wanting that squishy outside - inner core dildo - get the vixskin line. They have others that are regular silicone, cheaper but not as awesome as the vixskin line IMO.

    I love my Hank!

I found mine on Amazon for ~$20. The only one that was on sale was the Cocoa/caramel colored one (latin cock?) which I liked the best anyway. The "vanilla" one is really pale---like, "Looks-like-I'm-fucking-a-vampire" pale and the black one is black-black not black skin tone.

Mark is a lot thinner than Hank (1.375" diameter vs 1.6" respectively) so if the 1.7" is too thick, you're probably better off with Mark. I love Tantus products though so imo, you probably can't go wrong either way. My Tantus toys don't pick up lint the way some of my other silicone toys do. My We-Vibe is so bad I don't even use it because a min after I wash it, it's dirty again and I can't help but imagine that it's pushing lint into my uterus or something terrible.

Definitely check out some sellers on Amazon to see if you can get it cheaper.

@SarahTime Short? Hank is almost 7inches long! Your dude must be a stallion if Hank's too short. (;-) jk)

I own a couple of Vixskin Creations dildos that I have had for several years. I have the largest one 'Outlaw' and the 'Bandit'. They cost about a hundred dollars each or more and honestly they are not my favorite. Problems with them are, after a while they are like using a pencil eraser on your vag because they have a skin texture that can grab your own skin and do not seem to hold lube very well. Especially for camming, for camming you want the most smooth toy you can get, something that won't cause friction so for camming Vixskin Creations is a huge fail. Then again I do what my customers ask and many of them want me to do myself with the dildo, harder and faster, faster, faster, faster... with a Vixskin dildo this is a sure recipe for disaster and I don't need a vag full of sores and torn labia.

Then again I am not always horny and wet for my cam customers and most of the time I am faking interest with my mind only on the money. Maybe others are actually into it and this won't be a problem for them. Also I haven't had much luck with gold shows and so my pussy gets a lot of milage with single customers. Yes I own and use lube but sometimes I dry out anyway with all the, "Harder, harder, faster, faster!" and I try to avoid letting customers see me use lube because that makes them think I'm not really the horny little over-sexed slut-kitten who has been waiting all day in heat and with baited breath to see them jerk their penis cam 2 cam.

My favorite dildo so far is a cheap, smooth California Exotics dildo. It doesn't rub my pussy the wrong way after hours and hours of "faster, harder, faster!"

Anti-bacterial soap works just as good as boiling platinum-cured silicone dildos. Unless you are sharing your dildos with someone who has an STD I wouldn't worry about sterilizing them. I know that Vixskin advertises that you can boil their dildos but it's a lot easier to just wash them in the sink with a little soap. Never boil any other toy. I never boil any sex toys.

Also it is worth nothing that if you use a silicone dildo you have to be careful to avoid using lube with silicone in it because after a while silicone lube will melt your expensive silicone dildo.

If you are looking for the best camming dildo (in Silicone) then the Tantus Leisure looks good EXCEPT it has a harness-compatible base which can block your customer's view and you would have to be careful to avoid lubes that have silicone in them. Personally I am going to stick with my California Exotics pink glitter dildo until I find something in Teflon.

Makers of sex toys advertising silicone or hypo-allergenic toys like to tout their dildos as being "safe" and go on about how other types of plastic, rubber (etc.) are unsafe. It is a selling point because they are trying to sell you a product and if they can convince you that anything but a Platinum Cured Silicone dong is going to harm you then they are sure to be able to sell you a dildo for over a hundred dollars. It's all about marketing and making the sale (I have a degree in Advertising).

For camming you want something smooth. I would avoid something too rigid or pointy and I would avoid something "grabby" or with a too much texture. You don't want a lot of friction and you don't want to feel like you are stabbing yourself to death with something that has no give. However if you are comfortable with using a generic "hard shell" vibe type toy, that is probably the best thing you can use, something like that you can pick up for around six dollars. Personally I am happiest with toys that are like this (California Exotics Jelly type dildo) and I would prefer this over my Vixskin Platinum-Cured hundred dollar plus dildos any day of the year because it is relatively smooth and doesn't feel like a giant pencil eraser rubbing my pussy raw after a lot of camming. It is also a bright color that satisfies visual cravings of man creatures and of a decent size although it does not make my generally insecure customers feel intimidated. Total investment of between $15-$27 US dollars, depending on where you buy one. I have had mine for about seven years and it even with all those miles on it it is just as good as the day I bought it, plus you can put batteries in it and it vibrates.

I save my Vixskin dildos for when I want some me time, they just aren't good for camming but I am not a size queen and camming doesn't always get me hot and juicy. Don't get me wrong, I do occasionally like to use my rather large Vixskin Creations 'Outlaw' or 'Bandit', just not for camming. But it is all about personal preference. Use whatever works for you. But selling hundred dollar platinum-cured dildos by saying all other dildos are dangerous or carcinogenic is cleaver marketing. When was the last time you saw platinum cured silicone tooth brushes advertised? There are some really crappy dildos out there that can cause irritation, most notably the cheap double-ended dongs you see out there and any toys made of that same material. I would avoid any toy that gives off a smell or feels tacky. If it doesn't have a strong plastic type smell and if it seems stable (not tacky or sticky) then it is probably pretty darn safe.

Rubber, PVC, Plastic, Jelly, etc ARE unsafe. Those materials are porous, and build up bacteria and you can never, ever get them 100% clean. They fall apart over time. And for as often as we use toys. It's important that we use sex toys that are 100% body safe. Like silicone or glass.

I personally had a pvc/rubber type dildo, my first sex toys - it was fine at first, then after a few months of use the material started to to flake off (I was only using water based lube with it) and I developed a reaction to it. I'd feel sick after I used it. I used to have a plastic vibrator. After months of use the outer color (I'm assuming paint/coating) would come off/discolor. Where is it going? Somewhere in my bod. That shouldn't be happening. Ever.

And they were not cheapie $10 toys. The dildo was about $45 and the vibe was $25.

Like I say all the time, it's not about the price of the toy - it's the material that is used in it.

Jelly, Rubber, PVC, etc - One big reason not to use them: It's why they placed a ban on PVC phthalates from baby toys - because it's toxic to the human body.

There are articles on it: http://www.villagevoice.com/2007-01-...dildos-part-1/
    http://www.villagevoice.com/2007-02-...dildos-part-2/

It's not safe for a kid to put in their mouth. It's not safe for a person to have in their vag, ass, mouth. Reasons why the material isn't banned from sex toys, It's cheap for one, and I don't think people give it much thought to what they put in their body. So they just don't care and the product keeps selling - thus, the company keeps making those shitty toys.

They walk into a sex shop, eyeball a dildo "Well it looks like a penis, guess it goes in my vagina." I had no idea until I started to have reactions to my own toys is why I started to look into all of this.

I don't know about smaller companies. But the big companies like Tantus, Vixskin, or Don wands etc aren't marketing toys to off put other people and scare them away from "the bad toys" - It is safer. It's a fact. Because the material and the way they make their toys is safe for the body.

No you don't have to spend $100 on a toy. There are plenty of them under that range. Like a company like tantus or don wands. Sex toys won't break the bank.

People need to be educated on it. I think for camgirls especially, because we use these toys 6 hrs a day at least. I wish I had been, then I wouldn't have had to have the "lovely" experience of getting sick until I finally realized what was causing it.

Having tried Silicone and Glass I prefer my cheap California Exotics. It doesn't bruise my insides like a cold chunk of glass and it doesn't rub me raw like the Vixskin Silicone dildos do.

Having stated my preference ^, I concede that I do have a couple of Tantus silicone dildos that are okay. If I really enjoyed them I would use them on cam, that is to say if they were comfortable to use for extended periods of time I would.

I have had my cheap pink glitter California Exotics for 7 years and it has held up perfectly. Granted I have only been using it for camming for a little over a month, maybe two months, but it has seen plenty of use and has held up fine.

I don't roll my dildo around on the floor or use it to clean my toilet so I am not too worried about being able to get it laboratory clean. If I was worried that much about bacteria I would wear an oxygen tank and make my boyfriend put on a body condom. If I was sharing my dildo with corpses or people with STDs I would take more precautions but I'm not that worried about giving myself something.

I am going to stick by my own rule of thumb. "If it has a plastic smell or is tacky or grabby it isn't going inside of me. Everyone else is free to make their own decisions. Just offering my experience and opinions. Feel free to disagree. It's really not that big a deal to me.

How can be anything smoother than glass with lube? o.O

Btw, I'm doing BJs on this rubber or jelly or what dong, and it's horrible. I don't have to roll it on the floor, it's simply on my bed, but it picks up EVERYTHING and it's a pain in the ass to clean it. The glass one I just wipe with a bb wipe after each show, and that's all, it's fresh and clean again and it doesn't pick up ANYTHING, I also use a Lelo silicon vibe, it's the same, just a simple wipe and nothing is left on it. But this real-looking rubber whatever BJ dong... Dude! I wipe it like I was wiping for my life, but it's so hard to make it clean once it touched the bedsheet, or the towel or anything. And I cannot leave the cam every 5 minutes to clean in the bathroom in running water. After cleaning it, I have to leave it standing on the desk avoiding contact with anything cause it's gonna pick up hair and everything... and it either annoys me to hell in a show, or I start the unsexy: sorry bb there's this something in my mouth...

Edit 2. I bought my glass dildo for 9$ lol. A local sex shop went bankrupt. Too bad I didn't buy them all...

@Your Evil Twin, it's cool that you've found a system that works for you

I just have one thing I want to add to this:

Body safe dildos may at times be slightly more expensive than average, but one of the reasons why I'd argue that it's wise to avoid toys that contain leachable chemicals is financial. One of the risks of toys that contain phthalates and other chemicals is irritation. A vanilla cam chica who typically uses toys in her shows but can't because she's in pain due to a phthalate-induced reaction will probably find her income diminished until the reaction subsides. How many times have we all read here about chicas forced to take a week off due to pain and irritation? I'm not attributing all of those experiences to the use of a particular type of toy, what I'm saying is that using a toy containing chemicals that can potentially cause those issues is increasing the chance that those issues will occur. If those issues occur, the chica loses $$$$. Everything that Hayden wrote in her "Sex Toys and Safety" thread about leachable chemicals is backed up by science. It's not the maketing techinque of a line of products.

Like Hayden wrote above, a typical cam chica on a big box site gets more use out of a dildo each week than most women would get in a year. Whatever risks are inherent to toys that contain toxic chemicals (not every chemical has a smell) and phthalates are much higher for us than they are for the general population.

All I'm saying is that since this is our job we need to make sure we have the best equipment we can afford, to enable us to do our jobs to the best of our abilities. Using toys that are shown to cause problems in some people is a risk, to our health and to our pocket book. I'm ridiculously frugal, and I care far less about my health than I probably should. Hell, I'm drinking store brand soda and smoking a cigarette as I write this That said, for us sex toys are tools of the trade. Just as we research the specs on computers before we buy them, we need to consider what we're putting into our bodies, and at what potential cost. Personally I want to make sure each purchase I make for my business increases my $$$$, rather than decreasing it by putting me out of commission for a minute due to a reaction

I'm not trying to change your mind or argue with you, EvilTwin. All I wanted to do is add another element to Hayden's POV. Like you I'd never buy anything platinum though

Well said loveshooks. I know it's the new toy rubber toy that has caused the irritation...because I haven't had a problem when I was just using my glass toy. I'm itchy, dry and uncomfortable down there the last two days. I had to log off after only two shows yesterday because of the irritation...so yes...decrease in income. If I were in the painting biz I wouldn't be buying bargain paintbrushes so why settle for something less in this field and something that is beinf inserted into my body over and over again.

I'll admit I read Hayden's thread on sextoys when I first joined stripperweb but thought ehhh it will be fine, the wouldn't make them if they weren't safe right (I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks this way)? Now I am dealing with the effects of using a toy that is poorly made and wish I took the advice of those who know better/ done their research.

Like others have said, our toys have a lot more mileage than the average women using it once in a while.....

    Minor threadjack...

can someone pls tell me what the flaccid toys are used for? The ones like this: http://www.vixencreations.com/mrright.php

I guess I am not as well-read on my fetishes as I should be, but.... what do ppl do with them? Obviously they are useless for penetration. The description says:

"This toy can be worn several different ways. It fits comfortably in the front pouch of men's underwear, or can be worn in packing straps. Created as a companion for Mr. Right Packing Strap, this simple leather backed device will hold Mr. Right securely in just the right spot while protecting your skin. The 1 ½" elastic waist band sits on your hips and wears discreetly under clothing."

Huh? Who does this? Dudes? Lesbian chicks? And... why? :-/

    (Thanks in advance!)

^ The flaccid penis toys are for female to male crossdressers, gender benders or trans folks.

It allows one to feel more like a genetic male even if they aren't biologically born with such equipment.

I want one, not because I want to be a man, I'm just fascinated with what it must feel like to have a bunch of meat dangling between my legs. And it would be hilarious to smack people in the face with it.

Truthfully though, I'm a little disturbed by this. Obviously it was designed by someone who has never actually seen a real live human female naked in the flesh.
