In my club there are some dancers who use this method as a way of getting dances, saying that they will give the customer more time if they pay for a dance, sometimes they promise to double the time, two dances for one, sometimes just a few minutes more. Sometimes they offer to do this even before the customer has had the chance to complain about (or accept!) the original price.
I don't do this.
Customers comment on this every now and then, saying how earlier some dancer offered this much time for the same price or lower, "That is a good way of doing business, she's a smart girl, you should do the same. It's recession!"
I don't feel like lowering my price, but sometimes I am selling a group with another dancer and she promises "more time". It's not always the dancers actually give extra time when they have promised it, but some of them do and when the guy I'm with sees his friend getting more time with his dancer over there, for free, while I stop to get more money out of him... well obviously he doesn't like it.
Any thoughts on this subject, any advice? Would you give minutes away for free in order to sell a dance?
