..Particularly costumes & shoes? (I did a search on this more than once. Nothing came up). My boots are now taking over my room. I've tried plastic bags, but they always get mixed up. I'm now going to try shoe boxes. Any ideas? Advice?

This is not just for boots, but clothing as well.

I don't have many normal people clothes because I travel a lot so half my closet is dedicated to hanging my nicer costumes, my everyday stripper wear is in a cloth bag and I only have 4 pairs of stripper heels so they're just lined up on the floor of my closet next to all my other heels.
I take it you don't have a locker where you work? That's always a great place to store them. Shoe rack also seems like a good option or maybe an old suitcase or a storage box that you can just chuck them all in?

Good idea about the suitcase. I already have a huge hope chest (big, ornate piece of furniture box women were supposed to keep things about their youth & worth to prepare for marriage. Also doubles as backless sofa, if cushioned) full of boots. Mostly fashion but some stripper boots.
I tried the cloth bag thing, but I seemed to lose pieces that way. I'm going to try color coding with the shoe boxes for my outfits.

I keep my clothing pieces in a clear plastic drawer organizing thing.. Not sure what to call it? But they have all shapes and sizes at target.. Shoes I keep in the boxes they came in, in my car, because my cats get upset that I work so much and like to pee on anything they associate with me leaving (aka my shoes and anything else that they notice wearing or taking with me).

^
(What is it about the peeing cats??? It took a while, but when i was in the hospital for a week and my cat couldn't go outside as much, he would vomit, just a little by the front door. At least it wasn't liquidy and was easy to clean. Don't know which is worse).
Back to subject: I don't know if I have enough room to keep my shoes in the boxes they came in. I do have a fabric kind of shoe tree. The problem is: I have as many athletic/fashion/trendy shoes as I do stripper shoes and boots .Thanks for the suggestions.

What about one of those trunks you put in front of your bed??
Duffle bags (stripper shoes, stripper outfits, costumes, and fetish gear are my duffles)
I have a wheely-suitcase thing that I take to clubs-I only don't use it if I have an easy shift at a local club that I can drive to, in that case I just take a large bag. I keep all my clothes in that, inside plastic bags so they keep neat and are easy to locate-I take them out to wash them but soon as they're dry they go back in-that way I don't lose them, and the case is just in the house by the door or in the spare room, depending on how lazy I am.![]()

I have 2 large Rubbermaid tubs for costumes I don't wear much. Then two small nice ikea style organising boxes. One for clothes I wear all the time and the other for little accessories and pieces I might not use as much.
For my outfits, I found something really similar to this on CL and I dont know how I ever survived without it. For shoes/boots, I use cheap walmart bookcases.

I organize everything by putting the clothing part of one outfit in a bag (I use fabric bags, but I'm sure you could get away with a plastic bag). I then loop that over the handle of a clippy hanger that I clip the boots/shoes to. If you're organizing pieces that aren't necessarily tied to an outfit, organizational bins and drawers are a godsend. If you have broken drawers on your dresser that you can't fit, yank em out and replace them with canvas bins!

In a pile on the floor

I keep mine in a special bag at the end of my bed. A very large bag, I'll confess.

Storing outfits at work to me is always a bad idea because what if you get fired or the club unexpectedly closes? I've seen that happen way too many times. I always transported my costumes in a suitcase or duffle bag and my other supplies like makeup and personal care items in a Caboodle and I brought these home every night. I stored them in my closet.
That's what I do too!
My stuff stinks like smoke and ass after even just being in the club, regardless of whether or not I danced in it, so I hang all my stuff up when I'm not working. I basically put all my outfits on 2-3 hangers in my closet and just let them air out. When I wash them and they no longer reek of chemicals, I just fold them up and put them back in my dance bag.
