Default Excited!!! :) & one question.

Sooo!! I'm beyond excited to start camming. boyfriend bought me a cam. its the c615..since I'm computer (laptop) is a little older. plus I heard was good regardless till I can get the c920 I believe its called. I think Ima give streamate a try. not sure what else. I know I read a forum on here about Ebanned.com. but gonna do research. For the longest me and my boyfriend would just get on streamate and check out ladies. Actually still do now.. lol. its amazing how I see a lot of successful ladies on there. Keep it up now I just to sign up directly w/ streamate and see what all I have to submit. I plan on doing this sometime this week. Also took a vanilla ( I believe what its called on here) job last week as a dietary aide part time. So far that is only every other weekend so in-between I will just cam!

I do have question about taxes..when it's time to come up.. I only worked once (till now) in my life... factory job for 3 months before I attended college back in 08. I graduated this July and im 24..still live at home.. (I'll have the upstair to myself and pretty much a night owl honestly) but do plan on moving out no later than fall of next year. I did fill out paper work for taxes for the vanilla job already. for claiming anything I did put Zero.. & since im done w/ college for good im sure my parents won't claim me anymore.

So w/ me starting to cam I'd say early Nov and working my vanilla job.. I read a few things where u may have to pay in on camming? Wondering how much I may have to possibly pay in..or how much should I at least save just to be on the safe side. (Sorry...Newbie-ish here.. lol but I figure I ask and get a general idea)

Thanks again. ps--also haven't told me parents ..I'm sure I will eventually..but I'm glad the boyfriend does support my decision.

I would put away at least 25% towards taxes. I personally wouldn't tell your parents. There's no need to?

There's a big difference between honesty and disclosure. There's a lot of stigma in being a cam girl so why create hard feelings?

Right. Well I'm hitting that big 25 in Feb..ha. Its time for me to leave the nest here soon. and def want to next year. but I dont need my parents oo you need to move cause we don't need porno crap in this house. or something. I can see my mom coming around after awhile. But have a goal (moving out) I'm setting for myself. and I think camming will help. Thanks again Marina Starr*

    For taxes-

It doesnt matter if your a student or not, if you live in your moms house she may still file as 'head of household' and claim you. If she does it effects you, so you need to talk to her about it. (I mean that kind of ties into your full disclosure/partial disclosure concerns- maybe you could tell her since you are old enough and you have a job now and youve picked up other work online you want to file on your own this year meaning 2012)

As for how much you'll owe/how much you should save a possible bill due in April 2013, the best thing to do would be to go to an online site like turbo tax or tax act and enter in fake personal info and your real financial info- enter in your real numbers from your vanilla job that you have and enter in what you expect to earn from camming for the rest of the year as if you did earn it and get a 1099 form for it. (the online site is programmed to compute your tax liability for last year however the figures dont change much year to year so youll get a good ballpark figure of what youre looking at)

To figure out your future 'estimated' tax liability (which is what I think youre asking when you say-- what is it that I have to pay in) You fill out the worksheet/form showing what your average profits are- lets say 10 k a year and if the tax due on 10k is 2k, you would be required to make 4 quarterly payments of 500 dollars throughout the year. (they do that so that when the bill comes due its not huge and youve already paid into it)

Thanks Annabellz. Well tomorrow i'll randomly ask if you will claim me on taxes or not. I prefer to try and keep my cam life private from her for the time being..but then I have this feeling of telling her. Idk. I'll figure that out here sooner or later. I haven't signed up with any cam site yet. just trying to gather my last piece of information as possible before making this type of commitment. I just really want to have my own place next year and she knows this.

    Again thanks ladies.

You can't be claimed on taxes after age 24 I think. Unless laws changed this year. So in that case, you would not have to tell your parents because your financial info would not be needed for FAFSA/student loans and they could not claim you anyway.

Ok a friend of mine told me. this...

My mother will claim me just as a dependent. cause she did mention when I filled out paper work for my vanilla job (Which I start in Nov) to claim *Zero*. Either way my earnings won't show up on her taxes. also has long as I make under 3,600 or so.. i'll be fine..if not I will have to claim myself and will run into problems since as stated mother is claiming me one last time***

if anyone would like to verify this. please do so. also anything else I should know..tell me! lol.

    Thanks <3

The issue is that she can ONLY claim you as a dependent if she gives you 50% or more of your financial support. So say you make 30k that year and your mom only makes 40k... well, she can't claim you, and if she does, she will be audited because its obvious she didn't hand over $30,001+ to you. And even if you made 30k, you'd probably only pocket like 21 or 22k of it because the rest would go to taxes.

According to this her parents could still claim her if she was "under age 19 at year's end, or under 24 if the child was a full-time student for at least five months of the year." Does under 24 mean 23 and under, or up to and including 24? What month did the OP graduate? When did she turn 24? I have no idea. I'd ask a tax specialiast just to be safe.

Also, if you parents claim you, you still have to file your own taxes. Them claiming you or not will affect the size of your/their return/amount owed, but it doesn't negate the fact that you are legally obligated to declare everything you earn regardless.

Again thanks ladies. I'm still reading your messages CourtneyRaine. Well I turned 24 in Feb. and as stated graduated Aug of this year. (& was a full time student)

I guess I could ask her if she & my dad are still going to claim me as a dependent again this year.. and I know I'm going to have to file my own taxes w/ my vanilla job and camming. But since I have 2 months till I receive a w2 and a 1099 paper do you ladies think I would go over my limit* to where if my parents claimed me we both might be screwed? lol. hope im all making sense.

Well I asked my mom if she and dad will claim me..no yes or no answer per-say but her text messages to me. (Hr Block will run numbers. if we do (meaning her and dad) thats why u file zero now. more money taken out and you (me) get more money back.

The mention about being 24 and a student doesnt apply here- thats for full time students who dont live at home, it just allows parents to continue to claim their kids up to age 24 as long as their students even though they no longer live at home- because their in dorm rooms

But anyway, anyone can claim "head of household" status and claim anyone living in their household (of any age) if they provide 50% or more of the household expenses. It doesnt matter what each taxpayer earned either. For example taxpayer one (the mother age 50) earns 30k pays the rent, utilities etc. Taxpayer 2 (the daughter age 2 earned 35k, however pays 0 rent, 0 utilities. The mother (taxpayer 1) would be "head of household" and claim the daughter as a dependent and get the subsequent tax deduction. The deduction is for cost of living expenses. (the same would apply even if the daughter was paying a portion of rent or expenses- the daughter would have to be paying at least 50% of the expenses to 'legally" have a claim to her own deduction)

You should note- this is just the official IRS guidelines to determine who is eligible for 'head of household" status. It doesnt mean you HAVE to file that way. So just because your parents may be eligible to claim 'head of household" does not mean they must.

So you do need to discuss it with them. By them NOT claiming you, their taxes willl probably go up. But its inevitable. If it doesnt go up this year, it will go up next year when you move out, so you can appeal to them on that. Theyd only be delaying the inevitable. How much will theirs go up? I dont know. If they usually get a refund their refund will be less or it may be none, if they typically owe money, they may owe slightly more.

As for your tax liability, if they claim you, you wont be able to claim yourself and your tax liability will greatly increase. Because camming is self employed and no tax is collected- you pay tax on it at the end of the year, it is 100% guaranteed you will owe something. Typically its around 25-30% of your earnings, however without being able to claim yourself you may be looking at 35-40% of your earnings going to taxes.

Hm...well I know I'ma have to file my taxes for new vanilla job as a dietary aide. I'm not sure if I should off on camming now..or what. Regardless till the family files taxes (Which we have H&R Block do) would I need to show them my parents my w2 form and 1099 form if they can claim me or not.

    Thanks Again ladies.

Your parents won't need to see your tax paperwork, whether or not they're claiming you. Your income has nothing to do with being a dependent, the only thing that determines you as a dependent is the fact that you live under their roof and they pay for you to be there. Also, dependent or not you do need to file for both jobs. There's no way around that.
