    Default Slow slow slow

Has anybody else been having horribly slow nights these past few weeks? My club usually does pretty good..but not these last few weeks. It has been awful, like girls barely being able to make tip out. I'm wondering if I should switch clubs or if it is just a really bad time of year and others are experiencing this also. I work in a small town at an upper scale club.

I also work at a small club in a smaller town and most nights/weekends are horribly slow. Sometimes the only reason I go is to hang out with the bartender and a few regulars that come in just for the heck of it. I am working towards auditioning for a new club and I'm hoping I'll be ready soon, like next week. Good luck and I hope it picks up for you.

depends on your location. its been slow last month but i still make decent money because ive been working harder. its actually been picking up now ive been making excellent cash. just remember that just because you take off your top doesnt mean money will fall from the sky. you just simply have to do the best you can and hustle hard. manage your time per customers and just get straight to the point. because of these hard times, ive been way more manipulative in the clubs.

Thanks Aries, I hope it does too.

And @JoJoX, it is slow as in like 4 customers nearing the end of the night and 15 girls dancing. It's to the point where there is no one to hustle because everyone has already been hustled by like 5 girls or they aren't spending any money. Part of it could be the nights I'm working also...I haven't worked a weekend in a grip so maybe it would help to start doing weekends again. I sure am hoping things change soon though! I want them to get back to the way they used to be

I work at a typically high-volume club, so when we get even a little slower than usual, the 50-90 girls there can really have issues making money. As such, we usually figure out why it's slow so we don't all show up with high expectations. Apparently, according to some veteran dancers, election years have later slow seasons since our customers feel unsure about spending money until the election is decided. This year, our oil-involved customers have been mostly gone for the slow season. So, it's pre-election jitters IMO. I've even heard customers in the club talking about the election in terms of it affecting pay, profits, taxes, etc. People just don't spend money when they are afraid of what will happen to all of their money for the next four years (which is somewhat unfounded as both parties spend quite a bit of money, lol).
Uncertainty affects spending in our consumer-based culture more than anything else, it seems.
In financial terms, I've noticed about a 25% cut in pay during shifts on the average. (Remember my club still has business, just not as much.) I've been lazy and working less since I've gotten sick a few times (thanks to my kiddo bringing home various plagues); I'm kind of mentally gearing up to work 5-6 shifts, doubles, etc. when I can actually bank.
Good luck-- just wait a week!
    I'm hoping for a huge day post-election!

bunny8558, that is a really interesting way to look at it. I didn't even put the election into thought..but that really could be a good reason for the recent slowness and actually makes a lot of sense. Very, very interesting!

If your contract doesn't stipulate against it, just try a new club. You have no reason to feel obligated to only work at your club if you're allowed to work elsewhere. This is your job, so follow the money rather than wasting your time hanging out with non-spending regulars.

This is exactly what I've been thinking. All the girls were telling me that fall would pick up and it never did, so I was thinking it has to be the election. I'm wondering after this bullshit is over with people will come in and spend money again. Is it sad that even though I'm a liberal, I hope romney wins just because most of the customers with the money are probably for him and want him to win....lol. Even though he is against planned parenthood...screw that guy. But anyway, we've been struggling since all this debating. I even lost an hour in the champagne room because the custy needed to go home and watch the debates. Ever heard of on demand? ughhhhh... I feel everyone's pain. Don't these custys know that the president really only has total power over deploying troops and going to war. The president can't pass anything without going through the other branches. Fucking retards.

@djezcheeze, yeah I normally work Mondays and am kinda nervous about going in pre-election day. I'm debating whether I should just take the night off.

Good for you bunny8558 (: Maybe there still is hope!! Haha

I'm probably going to do dayshifts Monday and Tuesday myself. Guys still come in for lunch specials-- I just can't see too many guys being all "Let's do this and PARTY!" at night.
