Is the power even restored? There are gas shortages and severe subway damage - doesn't sound like a good idea.
The subway yesterday was a nightmare of epic proportions, no lie. Cops doing crowd control because fights were breaking out over how packed the platforms were and someone got pushed onto the tracks!

The Northern East coast just went through major destruction. That's like wanting to go to Nola when Katrina hit. I don't understand why would someone want to come here at this moment(unless it's for volunteer help). Worst timing. You do what you want, but i'd wait it out a little if I were you.

I already booked my ticket to work in NYC in december. Now I'm thinking I'm going to be there to volunteer instead.![]()

oh I just talked to my girl in Manhatten, she said its alright, just stay outa downtown...ill give it a try....cant be any worse than the club I worked at in Kansas that time =/

i live in NJ. it's pretty bad out here, honestly. i would stay home. i haven't been able to work in almost two weeks due to flooding, power lines being down, trees down. the good thing about people not having power though is that they are itching to get out of their homes for entertainment. i imagine in the next couple of weeks when things are set right (think about 2 weeks for places that haven't been badly hit), people will go out in droves--at least for a little while. but for now, go someplace warm and safe. i sure wish i could. :/
Yes, NYC is a mess and the clubs are slow.

after Katrina, I made the most money in those months than any other time in my life. They were running clubs on generators as they were trying to get the city rebuilt.. There were SOOOO many workers, it was ubelievable. I imagine in a month or so the money will be amazing

ok, update: i've been doing very well in NJ since the hurricane. lots of out-of-towners fixing electric equipment, chopping down trees, insurance adjustments, etc. not sure what NYC is like though--never even been so i can't compare.

^Feel free to PM me instead if youd like, do you mind sharing where in NJ? I've been burnt out dancing but kind of miss it now and wanted to get back into the swing of things, only I can't imagine anywhere thats decent to work at (meaning management, fees etc) in addition to making decent money =/.
