These delays in broadcasting occur quite frequently on cam sites, I doubt this is the reason for losing guys after all 45 seconds is not a very long period of time

^ sorry i disagree...45 seconds is a HUGE delay. mine on SM is usually about 4-5 seconds.. i count anything over 10 as a long delay and then i just close everything..and log back in and it usually fixes it. sometimes (rarely) i have to do it more than once.

I think its a site issue. It happens when there are lots of girls on. That tends to be when all the encoder problems start happening.

your fps is only 14.59 which is really low. mine is usually around 30, but if it ever drops below 25 i lose my HD icon.

    these aren't your settings tho.

This is exactly what happened with me the other day when I cammed with the HD Encoder for the first time in months. The delay was definitely noticeable on my end, yet none of the guys in my room said anything about it.

My question is...with all the tech issues I hear about Streamate and the Encoder, do models still feel that it's worth it to continue using the Encoder? Or do you feel that you're better off just going without it and just choosing HD from the dropdown menu?

when i do my encoder, my settings are just like the ones in the other thread.

i was pointing out the fps number..or trying to..and that is my normal fps. it has never been above that. (sorry i should have been more clear)

My fps have *never* been in the 30 range.

I'm not sure what to tell you. The delay can sometimes be on the site's end. But if it's a constant thing, it's probably internet or equipment. You're running an i5 or i7 and sufficient upload?

Are you using a logitech or are you using a camcorder set up?

If you are using a camcorder set up (like the Evi D100) you can fix your frame rate by going in to the settings of the conversion program you are using. I use elgato video capture and camtwist. A few months ago I had the same issue (I was getting 15 fps). Fixed it by changing the settings in camtwist and the elgato. My fps now is usually between 25-30.

If you are just using a logitech you may be able to change the resolution settings, but I am not 100% sure.

I still have a Sony VAIO VGN-CR320E laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T7250...lol. My actual internet connection (Verizon FioS) is great, but no, I never did go and buy a new laptop like many of you ladies did. I know Streamate highly recommends models use i7, but I had been MIA from Streamate for some time, so I wasn't about to make a big purchase like that when I wasn't even really active on the site. But now that I'm back on there pretty much everyday, I'm definitely considering getting a new laptop in the near future when I can afford to make a big purchase like that. I was at Walmart the other day, and when I was in the electronics section I was browsing their selection of laptops. I'm also gonna be checking that thread about the best laptops for camming. I have a question though...what if the new laptop had AMD (I think that's what it's called) INSTEAD OF i7? I thought I read somewhere in Streamates FAQs that AMD something is equivalent to i7? Is this true, or is one better than the other?

With the way traffic has been on ImLive and AdultWork, I'll probably think of Streamate and MyFreeCams as my "main" sites because of the great traffic.

AMD should be fine. Just check the specs on the i7 chip to see if the specs on the AMD are comparable.

If I had your computer, I would not be surprised that I couldn't run the encoder. The new encoder settings are to be used with a more powerful computer than the one you have. When they changed the required settings, it became much more taxing.

Have you looked at the task manager to see what your CPU usage is when you stream with the encoder? I had a computer like the one you're using and my CPU usage was 60%-90%. My usage with my new computer, plus all the other programs I run, is only 15% max while streaming.

I had the same problem. You should check your performance level in the task manager to see if the encoder is taking 100% of your computer usage. I no longer use the encoder because my computer can't handle it. I use to be able to use the encoder without any problems. But ever since SM upgraded it it delays for 30secs-1min, lags, freezes, and skip frames. My computer is only a year old and the encoder takes up 100% of my cpu usage. So I plan on upgrading my memory until I can get an i7 computer.

Did you check it while streaming live on the encoder?

    ^Yep, this

Girls, if you're running an old computer that just can't handle the encoder, then stop using the encoder, get a new computer, or at least accept that this is how it's gonna be for you if you keep working SM. I know it sucks, but you gotta come to terms with it. I LOVE helping people, but spending time answering questions, really trying to help out, to help girls here search for a way to make their money, only to find that you know (or should know) you're running a set-up that simply can't handle the tasks you're allotting is... frustrating.

If you're running a dual core, or even some quad cores, if you're running a laptop on wireless, if you're on crappy internet, if your encoder settings are wrong, if you're running a gazillion programs in the background, if your task manager says you're using over 50% or maybe 60%, then you're aware that you have an issue. You have all the information and tools at your disposal to diagnose and fix this issue.

I love you all, really. Now take some responsibility for your money-making ability. And make some money with us

When I cam from my boyfriend's house I use an older computer and the drop-down HD. It does affect my placement but I can still do okay.

There is really no substitute for an i7 or at least an i5 for long term if you want to do as much $$ as possible tho. Eventually I want one to travel with.

I noticed I had more delays these past days. They would come into private and the box would not pop up until a couple of seconds. I just shut off everything and rebooted my computer, then it was better.

I've noticed some weird time delays on SM myself, worse the last few days. So far, support has been useless. Best I've been able to do is when I notice it, I close the encoder and log completely out of the site, wait a few minutes, and log back in. It's annoying as fuck, but it's the best I've got.

    It's all very ... wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey.
