Thumbs down Scalp so dry and itchy. :(

Help! My scalp is sooo dry and itchy and it hurts! It just got cold here so I am sure that is why. I am literally sitting here with my hair soaking in coconut oil (the universal cure all on SW lol) but does anyone have any other ideas? Thank you!

just leave it alone. don't agitate your hair. do the coconut oil once a week but don't go overboard trying to find a "cure." just practice good hair care.

one thing that might help your hair overall is getting a water filter for your shower. my hair improved a lot after I got mine.

hey! i used to have this problem a lot too, if you go to a salon that uses aveda products they usually have a few scalp treatments that you can go in and have done. i also used the head and shoulder shampoo and conditioner specifically for dry scalp treatment, and i take a b-vitamin complex with helps for dry skin, hair etc. right now i'm using a leave in scalp treatment called biotene h-24 that works pretty well. good luck!

i had that problem, it was so dry and itchy that i had several scabs on my scalp... i think it was because i was prescribed adderall. made everything dry for me. my dr switched me to concerta and still dry and itchy but not to the point where i have scabs.
