    Default Calling off work

Hi I'm pretty new to the business and was wondering what the norm was when it came to "calling off sick" at the sc. Do you just not show up that night? Do most of you have to call your club to let them know? I know I will have to pay a fee for not showing up when i'm scheduled to work. I'm sick as a dog today and I dont feel like calling because the manager scares me! Do you ladies give notice when you won't be going in or do you just not show up that night? Thanks in advance.

I've never worked in a club that fined dancers for not showing up, but if you didn't show up for 2-3 shifts in a week, you were "warned" and then fired the next time it happened. Personally, I've always called when I was on schedule and knew I wouldn't be going in. It takes about 30 seconds to do, really not a big deal.

we definitely have to call , and if they dont' approve it we have to find another girl to cover us ( this is technically the rule at all times, if you want to call, out find cover) . if we do not , then we are suspended, fired, fined, etc..it sucks! i have gone into work with bursitis , a broken toe, a UTI...its wrong..

I agree calling is the thing to do. It shows that you are professional and responsible.
I'd grab my trumpet and I'd do a stripper sound, like the old Louis Armstrong, real raspy. And the people would go nuts! Then I knew that the sexual, sensual, guttural sound, that throbbing sound, is where it's at.

I've never called, but my club is really laid back and they would probably look at me funny if I did.

Do you know any fellow dancers working who can pass on the message for you? This can be another option. It really just depends how laid back your club is about the schedule.

I would call, it just comes off as rude not too. They expect you to show up, and need at least a certain number of dancers working the floor. If you call out early they have time to call other girls and sweet talk them into coming in (aka another girl may pick up a an extra shift and not have to pay house fees).

You may be scared of your manager but he/she will respect you more for keeping them filled in than they would for you just not showing up at all. Not calling would ju7st lead to a more distrustful relationship between you too.
