lol, it's the day the French celebrate their harvest.

third thursday of november every year.

it's mainly popular because of the marketing behind it and wine purists hate the wine because it's so young.

i happen to love it, i usually buy a few bottles every year as they tend to sell out real fast.

Lol! Whole Foods had a great price last year and I bought a few bottles. I took some to a Christmas party and people weren't really feeling it at first but were happy enough to have it when they ran out of Bogle.

I love Red wine but I'm more into the Malbec grape at the moment but I may pick up a bottle.

I just discovered Malbec in the past year, and quite fond of it too...
Thinking that if you like Malbec, you will probably enjoy Beaujolais as well...

Though I cant speak for the Novella....I checked out some reviews and saw that it has more of a fruity / banana flavour,
not sure what to think of that cause Im not too fond of fruity in my wine, but I will at least give it a whirl.

Hajhahahah..I always do that. My spanish is soooo bad. Novella is a spanish soap opera
Though thats not bad to try too...I have no clue what they are saying, but its pretty entertaining to watch!

Im heading out in like 10m, and will swing by the market to grab a bottle of Novello...
Will have my field report ready by tonight

Ha cool will be interesting to read that BlkSharpie.

I worked in a wine store one summer break from college. One of the coolest jobs I ever had, not the least reason being the boss had a philosophy of 'Know your wines by sampling them' and would open bottles of the good stuff periodically. Like 1-2 times a week. It probably helped that I would then tend to sell the hell out of whatever it was. Because he always chose well, and then I had the power of conviction, which will always sell well if you know what you are doing. And every saturday we had Sherry samples, which I would then share with everyone who wanted them. Saturdays were very good. I doubt he or I could get away with that now, which is kind of a shame. But never mind that.

Anyway, I thought it was on Beaujolais Nouveau Day that he opened a bottle for us to try--but it couldn't have been in November, as I was back in full time school and had to quit the job. And from my understanding, Beaujolas Nouveau does not age well? But I rather liked it, as I recall. Maybe the sampling took place when I dropped by for a visit after leaving the job though. Naturally I had a tendency to do so in hopes the timing would be good for sampling. And it often was.
