Default Artists: Ever painted on linen canvas?

I am looking at linen canvas rolls on sale 59% off.

Wondering what the difference is between linen and regular canvas for paintings.

Hmm, this might be wrong but if it's on a roll then you are stretching it yourself right? I think it's just like canvas, but has not been stretched or covered with prime yet. The weave of the fabric will make your texture more rough or smooth. It's probably on sale because stretching it and priming yourself is a lot more work then pre bought canvas. But its so fun to do it all!

Aha, thanks! I've had several artist friends who stretched their own canvas. It looked like fun, but it also looked like a lot of work.

Ideally, I'd want to mass produce big giant canvases. But I don't think I'm quite ready for that yet--for one thing not enough room here. I thought maybe I could do one at a time if it was easy though.

What kinds of things do you like to paint?

Oh here is the link for the sale BTW:

Oh, it is so much work. Nails guns and wood, glue and waiting overnight but you can make a custom canvas and in the long run if you are an artist it is cheaper and gives you more cred lol

I mostly do watercolor and acrylics and have been lazy lately

Well I do like the great big huge canvases, but if you buy the manufactured ones they are like 200$ which is ridiculous. I was going to hire an Old School silkscreen guy to make me a bunch, a while back. But I lost touch with him.

Don't feel bad about slacking, I've been terrible with it. Just get the passion back, if you can. I want to start the Pinup stuff again.
