13 mother****ing billion? Why waste time working all over the damn globe I should have just peddled burgers around with bad slow service.

Yes, but from what I've heard the company steals tips from their drivers. You also have to factor in the wear and tear on your own car and gas expenses coming out of your own pocket. You'd be better off working as one of the higher ups of the company, like a CEO. They are the ones profiting the most.

That's what I meant. I should have founded a company that does delivery. In other words, I want the 13Billion. I had the capital, it just seemed like a dumb pedestrian idea that everyone was doing. I haven't worked for anyone in years - I probably wouldn't be a very good employee anymore.

Between the food delivery services, the grocery delivery, ride/taxi-like services, these people who founded such companies have all profited on the same darn thing, just under a different name. Maybe you could found a food delivery company that actually shows up on time, lol. If they ever come out with flying cars maybe that could be your next big venture.

I was in the middle of camming in my bedroom when all of a sudden the tv in my living room came blaring on and scared the piss out of me. Nobody is home but me. Both my front and back doors are locked and deadbolted and the tv remote is still sitting on the living room couch right where I left it. All I can figure is that maybe a neighbor has the same kind of smart tv and it managed to trigger mine to turn on when they were turning theirs on. This is the 2nd time this has happened. Dang technology these days.

My employer’s considering dropping the UHF radio network in favor of an 800 MHz trunked network with P25 Phase II digital squelch toning. He hasn’t said yet if he expects us to buy our own radios or not if he does this.

I’m in two minds about it. On the one hand, he’ll give us a stipend to cover at least some of the cost… it might even fully cover the cost of some used ones. On the other hand, it won’t fully cover the cost of the one I want - a Harris XG-100P, which does P25 and trunking, and it also covers VHF (which I don’t really need), UHF (which will allow me to talk on the equestrian center GMRS net), and the 800/900 band. But even used, they’re quite pricey… the prices used on EBay range from $1,400 - $1,900.

I went to meet some day job clients at a fancy " _*under _canvas " glamping place.
I don't want to trash talk ( I may delete this ) but I would have been so disappointed. I *think* it was like $250 a night or something. I drove up and the place looked like a homeless tent city . The " shared " area tent ( while everyone eats ) seemed to not have air conditioning . Maybe I'm missing something ? I need to research this damn place more . I just feel like I would have been pissed if I booked it but as a local I guess part of it is knowing that budget could have gotten so much more elsewhere. I was excited to visit one of those properties . ;/

I'm sure I was seeing it as it's worst ( in the middle of the bright sun and middle of day ) but what I saw and how it appears on IG ..... whoa ...... seems like different worlds.

I think I might record some covers first, kinda feel out what specific style I want to play. E.g., do I want the sludginess of a band like Electric Wizard, a more restrained approach on instrumentation and stronger emphasis on vocals a la Coven, what sort of tempo am I looking for, etc.?

I’m got a list of songs in mind for this, but I need to trim it down some.

I read an article about Chuck E. Cheese doing away with their animatronic character band that they've had for years. When I was a kid I used to be so fascinated by that animatronic band that when the curtains closed I'd sneak up on the stage, behind the curtain to go look at them. I have pictures of me having several birthdays there, back when the place was called ShowBiz and when it became Chuck E. Cheese. My own kid has had a few birthdays there as well and walked for the first time ever while there. That place holds a lot of memories. I wonder what they'll do with the discarded animatronic characters. I still have tokens from when they used to use those golden tokens that have now been discontinued and replaced with credit card looking things. I plan on taping them to my kid's baby book or something so that they don't get lost. I'm feeling nostalgic.

The Rock-a-Fire Explosion! I don’t remember it, but I apparently went once when I was maybe around 2 and we were visiting some English relatives. I was apparently terrified out of my mind.

Omg! I had a vanilla job there I was the girl working the prize stand & making cotton candy. It used to be so fun giving kids their prizes and arranging all the cheap prizes in the cases,I've never forgot that! Also was funny I was spposed to also fix some of the games when they went down . however I never figured out how to fix them. I hated going to one of the guys in the kitchen who would come out and fix it for me I felt so guilty, but he always did it. god rest his soul!! I know exactly what you mean about being fasinated by those animals, it was amazing!! Also one thing, the birthday cakes were so. freaking. delicious. I actually still feel guilty about this! but when I first work there, I was a waitress & server. I handled all the bday parties. Omg. I used to go in the frigerator and open the box of cake and eat off the birthday cakes! all shift long, I would find reasons to go into the refrigerator and eat off those cakes! I was young then, 19. and never gained weight there were times I remember eating almost entire cake, if not an entire one. I am going to miss that place!!!

WendiStarr started me on this but I'm not letting these scumbags off:

DC attorney general sues DoorDash, claiming it misled customers and pocketed workers' tips

Pocketing tips is ultra ultra low - I don't know who valued these thieving assholes at 13Bil but they need to assess their risk modeling.

Chuck E. Cheese (along with the nearby Toys R Us) is one of my fondest childhood memories. It was far away, so I only got to go for birthdays. I remember the animatronics, the 80's video games, the shiny tokens, tickets, the ball pit, the balloon machine, skee ball, whack-a-mole, and of course, the pizza.

I almost didn't spend the tokens because I wanted to keep them.

Interesting article about the chain here. I did not know Chuck's middle name was "Entertainment."

There's a newer one inside the local mall. No comparison at all. And apparently they've completely redesigned Chuck himself. Don't Google it- it's hideous.

Also don't Google "violence at Chuck E. Cheese."

^ Omg, yes! The new Chuck E. Cheese character dude looks creepy as heck! My kid is terrified of him now. It's not just my kid either. I've seen several kids cry or go and hide when they see that mascot walking around in that creepy looking costume.

Idk… that kinda makes me like it. Then again, I’m the one who left my friend’s children thinking that Krampus was going to visit them.

I never had those when I was younger, so the sentimental attachment just isn’t there. When people become sentimental over Toys R’ Us going under, it didn’t make sense to me.

Remind me not to get groceries from Kroger again. $46 for 7 items. Aldi is much more reasonable. Damn my carrot juice and (cooked) sushi cravings!

You can choose any one skill to have at an expert level. The only restriction is that you may not profit from it.

    Great singing voice?
    Expert typist?
    Artistic skill?
    A musical instrument?
    Anything else?

I already have two of those. And trust me, with none of those can you really profit from it at expert level. You need to be one of the top few in the world to make any real money.

But if I had to choose a skill you don't have listed, I'd choose piloting at expert level.

Blues, we don't ever *ask* for pictures on this site, no beggars, so punch yourself in the face, sit on your hands, and grit your teeth until the urge passes.
