Yep, so glad they finally green lit the movie.

I checked and they actually shot the whole series in Southern CA. I was impressed- they got the look right without having to shoot on location in dirty azz South Dakota.

The tone of the series is right on- a lawless miner's camp really is the Devil's playground, and the only order available is doled out by the meanest dogs in the bunch.

Believe it or not at the time Montana was a nicer place compared to Black Hills South Dakota. Anyone road tripping through MT can still see the traces of Wild West influence on the state. (I am saying this b/c the "Hero" of "Deadwood" is from the Montana Territories. He's the moral center of the story.)

I hope Garret Dillahunt has at least one role in this. He got to play opposite Oliphant again in "Justified" and was great. He's such a good villain (he played a Terminator!), but maybe he could be a good guy this time.
Also, I want to see Swearengen's fate. I've forbidden myself from reading historical spoilers since the movie became a possibility, but I recall a lot of mystery surrounding his demise.

News you can use if you hit up Good Will SecondHand stores-

The company policy is to base pricing on online prices for items...which explains the price increases on items in the past several years.

Some stores do select discounts on certain days so you need to learn those in order to lower your overall bill if you shop there.

Non taxed/lower priced options for secondhand shopping - flea markets/"open air markets" ...FaceBook sales groups, yard sales, and online sales sites. (Read the fine print on auction sites.)

Debating whether or not I'm going to invest in a Roomba when the Black Friday sales start. I've wanted one forever. It would be so nice not to manually vacuum. My cat would probably freak out, or see it as a challenge - lol.

I want one, just in the hope that this happens:

    Goodness. Wish me luck.
The ex wants to meet to discuss some things.
I had him on a no contact plan of anything that wasn't dog custody related.

He has stuck to the boundary of not coming here EVER and giving me 24-48 hours notice for anything non-emergency. He has followed my rules 100%.

It's been almost 3 months now since the " I am thinking of moving out " convo and two months or so that he's been moved out.

I know better than to see him on a day when I have important things today. It's unlikely he can derail my day today ( art project , gallery stroll , get hair done ). It's a GREAT day I have planned. I don't want him putting me in a bad mood.

Random tech question- is selling on poshmark dot com only do-able by app?

I signed up via desktop but it seems they direct that traffic to purchasing, not selling.

Just wondering. The site also seems full of retail sellers. (Like eBay.)

Hmm ...I'm not sure if you can make a listing via computer, but most of the site's functionality is available to you on the computer. I've actually had much more luck selling on an app called Mercari. Poshmark is a lot of fluff (you get thousands of followers who don't buy anything, and tons of shares that don't mean anything either) but Mercari you actually get genuine buyers.

Thanks. I wish these sites wouldn't lean so heavily on apps. Or maybe I'm just old and not with it lol...

^ I must be old too. I hate apps. I wish there'd be more computer-friendly websites as opposed to everything being a damn phone app to download and add to the clusterfuck of apps on my phone. I don't want anymore apps on my phone.

On an unrelated note I want to go see that movie The Girl in the Spider's Web. I think I will have a date with myself to see it tomorrow.

Used to love going to Goodwill; probably stopped in once or twice a week for a few years. Found some great bargains- nice shirts for three bucks- and all kinds of practical things. Lots of fun stuff, too. But then the prices started going up while the quality went down. I heard people grumbling about this every time I went in. I remember a 2/3 filled spindle of CD-Rs selling for $30 when Staples sold them for $20.
Just yesterday, I stopped by for the first time in ages. It was like a really bad yard sale. Who needs half of a sprinkler or a copy of "AOL for Dummies"?

What the heck is with Twitter locking me out of my account? 2nd time this week that they've done so. I have my account on protected tweets since it's an sw account. I have an 18+ NSFW warning in my bio. There's no nudity in my main image or in my banner picture. What gives?

Do any of you get sex work inquiries from your normal personal online dating profile ?

I imagine it MUST happen to other people . I just find it somewhat amusing. There are a couple I'm tempted by ( a couple " shopping " date offers ).

The latest is looking for dominance ( I'm a natural at it ) and said he can be very generous. Hmmmm

I'm just not sure given that I put my real first name on there. I guess I'll just discuss in person only if these go anywhere ( don't want any sort of paper record attached to my real dating profile ).

I'm assuming it's not the cops ( the website I'm on for dating is so tame .... surely they would go to another site ? ).

I think the silver lining is GW is pushing people towards supporting other thrift shops. A lot of local Non Profits start shops (I've hit up a tons of them) ...They often don't have wacked out pricing as they can't afford to pay someone to check prices against Internet prices. & Some sell by lot/bin.

Our local GW is overpriced now but it still gets picked clean. It's kind of a weird local phenomenon...

After FOSTA/SESTA they were deleting some adult oriented Twitter accounts. Maybe someone reported your content?

I'm really excited! There's this sex worker made tarot deck called "The Slutist Tarot" and I've had my eyes on it for a year or so. I finally decided to order a deck today. The images are gorgeous and I'm happy to support any business owned by and made for those in the industry.

I told these fuckers I didn’t want to hear Christmas music before Thanksgiving is over… I prefer to only stress over one holiday at a time. They didn’t heed my warning, forgetting that people as dorky as I am don’t let things go… and I still remember Ark Music. Sooooo… guess what’s going on repeat?

And I still have all of Spotify and YouTube at my disposal. It’s on now.

I made the WRONG CALL .

Boy did I choose wrong. A month ago I was deciding between coming out of dancing retirement for a bit ( and working out of state ) and staying HERE to focus on my life / romantic efforts.

Ha. I'm officially calling it a bad choice. Should have gone and hustled. Maybe once Turkey day is over I'll do a mini trip.

I just ordered my first Tarot Deck as well ! I got the sacred traveler. I would love to check out this deck.

My friend M did a reading for me at the shop while I was going to look at decks and it was SO lovely.

Random thought. I wonder if anybody ever walked down the aisle to "Closer" by NIN. Yeah, I realize it would have to be an "alternative" type of church who would allow such a song to play. This cracks me up thinking about it and no, I'm not getting married, probably ever. After all I do have a friend who recently walked down the aisle to "The Hey Song". I thought that was an odd choice of song but I know there has to be some freakier people out there.

I wish cars came with different honks.

The car ahead of me at a solid five-minute red light has apparently been daydreaming and not noticed the change.

I'd like to be able to say "Excuse me, but it's green now" instead of "MOVE ASSHOLE," which is what the default honk sounds like to me.
