Search I found an article on Escorting.....Is the advice in it accurate?

The article brought up some very good points. Here it is: http://dating.com/articles/escort-re...-legal-trouble Anyways, I had escorted for the first time about 4 months as I waited on my student loan check, but stopped about 3 weeks ago when the money came thru. Subsequently, I had to stop due to surgery on my cervix to cut out precancerous cells. Anyways, the down time for that is a month and it has taken a bite out of my wallet. I'm looking to start up working again soon and build my own website this time first. Last time, I was just going thru ghetto-ass back page. I don't want to do that ever again. I was charging 200 and hour and was lucky to get that. I think I only reason I could was because I am a squirter and most men have a fetish for that. I also want to make sure that I set up my business the right way. Is the article I found any good? Any other suggestions? I'm getting pics and a screening form put on my website as well. Well, its late and I'm running on. I mostly just want to know of the article is correct and to talk with someone who has been in the biz for awhile. Thanks ladies!

With any article out there on escorting you pretty much have to take it with a grain of salt some of them are great but others are just plain bad advice. Plus also what is written out there is majority of the time from the US perspective when escorting happens world wide. There are some basic info you need to pay attention to which is a sticky topic here in the other work section.

Hmmm. "Escorting is legal" . Yeah but with a GIGANTIC "But". LE doesn't really look at it that way and for the most part doesn't care about details and niceties so caution and care ought to stay in the forefront of anything and everything you do.

There ARE things you can do ; other things you should avoid doing and some things you should NEVER do. They have all been discussed on this board. There is no such thing as a foolproof strategy. The best you can do is minimize risk and one of the best ways to do that is stay as low profile as possible while still generating enough business to make the whole exercise worth your while. Again, posters like "Minnie" , "Sharpie" and some others KNOW what they are talking about so you'd be a LOT better off taking their advice and guidance.

Wow...that is a really bad article. I hate to say it cause its not handing over much info to start, but my first piece of advice to everyone always is research, research and research some more. Before I started, I did a little over 2 weeks of solid research (and I only sleep 4hrs a nite, I did nothing but read), I got Amanda Brooks books, and poured through SW for info (there wasnt nearly as much on here about escorting when I started as there is now, but it was a great resource and even better today) I read through every forum and community that I could, and when I had specific questions, I reached out and asked.

This article has a lot of misinformation. This type of escorting is not legal...unless you are planning to go the route of being strictly a social escort (dont plan to earn a living doing that) then it would be naive to assume that the guys you have dates with are not expecting intimate time as part of the service, and ignorant to think that LE does not know that you offer it as part of your service. Operate knowing that everyone knows full well what kind of escort you are. An escort is someone who accompanies with or takes someone somewhere...Youre not a tour guide escorting people around a lake on a boat, and youre not a hostess escorting people to their table. LE knows this. Your clients know this. You know this. Any advice that says what you do is legal because you use the same title as something that is legal is setting you up for failure.

The Contract: Insane!! Never...ever do anything to create or leave a paper trail between yourself and your clients. Any guy who would sign a legal document with an escort is insane. For it anyway to be binding between you, both of your full legal names would have to appear on it. And on top of that....okay say something does go wrong. Where are you going to use this contract to enforce the terms within it? So it ends up being LE and you get naked and on your knees...when they rush in to bust you, are you going to whip out the contract and say "no under these terms that he signed, this act is not being paid for!" you could, but it wont do anything for you, save for give LE a story to laugh about while you sit in jail.

Donation: This is an individual thing. A donation is money, the amount left up to the donor, given for a charitable reason. With a *legitimate* donation, you cant tell someone how much to give...that is why with any org, if they prefer a certain amount they will say "suggested donation $$" but in the end, the donor gives what they can/want to. Im not a charity case who will take whatever a guy feels like giving me to help me out, I offer a service and I want to be paid a certain amount for my time and so I set a rate. I do make it clear, my rates are for time and companionship only, that is the service I advertise and set my rates for...I dont have a menu, a guy doesnt have to pay more for xyz, and he doesnt get to pay less if we dont do xyz, he pays by the hour, for my time. That is just *my* method though, I know some ladies are more comfortable calling it a donation. But I just know my luck, Ill end up with the guy who takes it literally, and actually leaves what he feels like donating to me.

Accepting money: Also a personal thing, I prefer not to talk money when in person. When we are in a hotel room alone together, and he gives me money and we get down to biz, its obvious what the true intent of that money is for. If we are meeting over dinner or out somewhere, and he gives me the card/envelope thats fine, because once he hands it to me, we go on to spend time together, way before the BCD time. But when its an average date, meeting in a hotel...I want him to put the money down where I can see it, without mention. Its up to you though to put it in your ad or website how you prefer them to present it to you. This is individual, but no one wants it handed to them, no guy wants to have to hand over cash or have the lady talk about it...sounds too much like a set up and would freak a guy out.

Become a masseuse: No. All being licensed does is give you the ability to legally give a massage, it does not give you the ability to legally perform erotic massage. If you are busted, while you will not get in trouble for performing massage without a license, you will still get busted for prostitution and on top of that, your license will be revoked.

Avoid streetwalking: Thats too obvious to be labeled a "strategy".

Go big city: You can work as an escort anywhere, no need to up and move if you dont live in a big city...besides that you can get busted in a big or small city. Also, while there are more customers in a big city, there is also more competition with other escorts. This isnt a job you relocate for....stay where you are, and apply all the same methods of screening and safety as you would in any city. Many touring ladies can attest to it that smaller cities and towns end up being big business, because the competition is so low there compared to bigger cities. Guys dont have as much to choose from, being the big fish in a little pond is a lot better than being a big fish in an ocean...where there are hundreds of other big fish.

Become a legitimate business / register with your city: No. Every registered business is public record. Do you *really* want anyone with an internet connection to log into your county clerks database and see who is behind Suzie Jizzmaster and get your full name, address and personal phone number? No. Do not connect your personal information to your escort persona. When you create a website, make sure you get privacy for your domain so that no one can look you up and find your personal info. This is a strictly under the radar type of job. Neverminding LE would love if you made thier job easier, stalkers and bible thumpers would have a field day with you.

    What I do agree with:
Familiarize yourself with the law... also, stay aware of everything going on in your city, of any recent busts, hotels and areas where there is a lot of activity going on.

Pay Uncle Sam: The IRS could care less what you do for a living..they just want their cut of whatever you make. You will get into more trouble for not paying taxes than you do for getting busted. Unless you hide your money very well, never pay rent or bills, and have no desire to ever rent a nice place, buy a car, buy a house, travel or do anything to up your standard of life for the sake of staying off the grid...pay your taxes.

Dont proposition: Talking money and sexual acts is setting yourself up. Most guys freak out when a lady openly talks about it, and will assume shes LE...rightfully so. If a guy does that to you, end the convo....talking about sex period brings makes it clear the intent of why hes paying to see you....if hes LE, youre busted just walking into the room...heck, some ladies have been busted walking into the hotel before they made it to the room....she already made it easy for them, and they already got their proof of intent and what she was there for.

Stay quiet: Not so much for legal reasons...just talking about being an escort is not illegal, youd have to actually be going on a date, during, just after for LE to do something. But...people will make your life a living hell if they know it. This business is a very lonely one...its just part of the job. Find other ladies who are escorts to talk with and know where youre coming from, friends and family..forget about it.

No guarantees: Aint that the truth...we face so many risks...between jail or getting robbed or assualted, or ending up dead in some guys trunk or buried in the woods somewhere... and thats why we can charge what we do.
Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink!
