Default How do you know if someone canceled an item they bought off your wishlist?

Sooo some guy bought me two VERY expensive gifts on Saturday. It was really random and made me go hmmm. It keeps showing as purchased on my list...so basically by what I understand is if a customer cancels the order it goes back on your wishlist right? Or does it stay on purchased?

If its amazon - click on the item, scroll down to the bottom and click "write a customer review". If they actually went through with the purchase and didnt cancel there will be a box checked that says "Label this review so customers know you purchased this item at Amazon".

I had a guy do something like that two years ago. He bought me a $300 guitar, cancelled it, and then made fun of me for getting my hopes up. He was a complete stranger, too.

Im not sure if this is accurate? I just checked on a wishlist item Im waiting for and didnt see an option for "Label this review", but also then checked an item I did already get, and the option wasnt there either........ I know a way some ladies have checked is by just calling up Amazon and give them the transaction # to research it.

^ hmm, its odd that youre not seeing that option. When I go into my purchased view, its there for me on all items.

On a hunch, I checked my personal account, and if its an item I bought myself the option on there.
But for any of the items Ive gotten that were purchased off my wishlist, there is no option for it.

^ I was sitting here trying to figure out why no one else could see that option but me and it was because I viewing my list through a customers account. ugh. You are right, it only shows items that were bought yourself/with a gift card.

I would just wait and see if it shows up. Guys do this all the time. Sometimes it goes back to your unpurchased list but sometimes not. If it was pretty random I would say wait it out and definitely never do something in exchange until it arrives.

Unless its a regular of mine, any time a guy tells me they got me something I say something like "oh thanks we will see if it actually arrives, I'll let you know!" Every time it's been random for me, it doesn't show!

Damnit I never had a transaction number. I am guessing since it is electronic items I would get them by Friday at the latest. Amazon seems to be VERY fast about shipping electronics. The guy did not want a show or anything up front. I was like wut you really bought this...IDk strange.

Oh yeah Thanks everyone Sorry my mind is always elsewhere

Awe no worries Secret hehe! I was curious why I *couldnt* see it, cause that would have been an awesome indicator.

EvilChick, can always just ask them to send you the transaction ID that they got with their confirmation email, and ask them to send the UPS tracking # when the item ships too. I always ask for that....if they actually ordered it, then they have no issues doing that. Then if you have any questions about it, just call CS to see if its processing or was cancelled.

But yeah, whether by surprise or not, I dont get excited til its actually in my hands. Wishlist items are always gifts, never a method of payment to me.

I agree, too many guys are tricky and when they realize I don't fall for the okie doke they stop contacting me. I had a guy ask for my wishlist last week and I told him I preferred gift cards. He wanted to buy "heels" but I didn't have any on my account. I mentioned if he purchased a gc, then perhaps I would find a pair and add them for him one the gc was sent. I saw no need getting his jollies off for free by making heels appear on my list for his pleasure. He asked why he needed to buy the gc and I explained that too many posers try and trick girls into thinking that they "bought" something when they didn't. Funny how how disappeared after that!

I'm thinking that once my indy site gets built I'll have an amazon tab on my page with my rules. (not to be a damper but...)On that page it will explain that I prefer gc, but if they wanted to send me a gift, a gift is all it would be, and not an exchange for anything. I'd also throw a ton of pics of me below holding other gifts from guys, and remind them of scams out there and how I know all about them and for them not to try it!
