Question Hello Kitty and Grown Women?

How do you feel about grown women (20+) and hello kitty? Do you wear Hello Kitty?

I see this on occasion and really have to wonder how these women expect to get taken seriously.. what is the significance of Hello Kitty?

A grown woman in a Hello Kitty necklace? I've even seen women who have tattooed Hello Kitty on their body...

Am I missing something? Is it an inner child thing?

Charlize Theron quote: “I’m pretty amazed by Hello Kitty. I see so many women in their 30s walking around in Hello Kitty shit and nobody is concerned for them … [Is it] the one iconic teenage symbol that seems okay for women in their 30s? The world seems to not have an issue with it …
Many of the obstacles you once imagined are not even there.

i like hello kitty (altho i dont wear it much) and I'm obsessed with the last unicorn (1982 cult cartoon) and other 80s memorabilia. all things that made my short childhood happy. i get a lot of crap for it , but i don't really give a shit what charlize theron or anybody else has to say about it, its something that has personal significance for me..hello kitty has turned into a teenage/young adult emo obsession ( as with most things japanese) so thats why it's everywhere. what i find more annoying is grown ass men spending their lives playing video games like lil boys

It just makes me happy. Just like any logo or signature pattern or color (Burberry plaid, Tiffany's. Teal etc) and lots of grown women still have things with the Barbie logo, Mickey mouse, the playboy bunny, all kinds of shit.

If you like it, and think it looks good, then who cares? You can say it's for kids, but in the end it's all just fashion. I don't know that anyone worries about "being taken seriously" by strangers on the street. You wear what you like.

Now if women had their Hello Kitty stuff on for job interviews or something serious like that, then we would have a problem.

This is sad. You can't say you're obsessed with The Last Unicorn and then go bash video games. It's amazing that the stigma that games are only for children still exists in 2012.

I've made good money wearing a Hello Kitty thong.

I don't care for juvenile stuff. Same with Victoria's secret. I see no Damn underwear for women. It's all doggy and cupcake patterns on cotton panties. The pink line needs to fkn go. Bring back the silk and lace please.

I'd buy an Xmas present from Lola Luna way before VS!

I can't recall seeing many people out and about wearing Hello Kitty stuff, but at 4:30 AM you get a different breed in the grocery stores.

I have a HK necklace and earring set, and one HK shirt, and a pair of HK pajamas. It makes me happy. But so do non-juvenile things. It's not like I go crazy with HK or anything.

yeah, about as sad as the stigma of wearing what you want and liking the movies you want ..it certainly doesn't consume my time like it seems playing video games does with men, sorry i've had some bad experiences with immature losers, games are perfectly fine when treated as such

I own a lot of Hello Kitty shit to include undies, blankets, slippers, Vans, key chain, my house key is pink hello kitty from Home Depot, book bags and a bunch of other stuff. As my daughter got a bit older she started taking most of the stuff like the blankets/towels etc. I still love it and frankly don't give a fuck if anyone thinks I'm immature because of it. If someone was to judge me because of my Hello Kitty shoes then its frankly someone I wouldn't care to get to know either. There are worse things out there, like women who are fat as fuck and continue to wear shit that doesn't fit them.

My bathroom is Hello Kitty and I own a lot of HK stuff. Why does it matter? I mean its like saying "omg why would anyone ever buy anything louis vuitton is so tacky!!!" Different people like different things. Its just a cat, and I don't really see why a cat has to be a child's symbol.

Hello Kitty is cute. I love the rhinestone necklaces The thing that sucks is that 13-17 year old girl's walk around in short shorts and tiny tops, and turn Hello Kitty era things into an emo thing. Then when a 22 year old like me wants to wear short shorts and things like that, which are meant for people my age not teenagers(in my opinion), then everyone says I dress like a teenager...wth? I'm 22 am I supposed to look like a grandma?

I recently got into Hello Kitty. Absolutely nothing wrong with it! Target just had a line of Hello Kitty clothes and some of them were really nice subtle patterns with surprise cats in it. Sooo cute! I needed to lighten up a bit. I am a bit dark all around.

I've loved Hello Kitty since I was a kid and used to watch it. I don't really know why, I just do. She's freakin adorable IMO. I made my nieces watch Hello Kitty as it was actually pretty educational.

I own maybe a handful of Hello Kitty things, because most of them are pink and I'm not too fond of pink.

I saw a fattie @ Wal Mart wearing HK yoga pants 2 sizes too small when I read this post.

I have 2 rhinestone hello kitty necklaces -one is like huge & major bling (think rapper) & the other is small & cute. I really like em, but I wear what I like & don't care what others think. I think it's more childish to be so concerned about what others think of your clothes & accessories than what it is that your actually wearing as long as it's within reason. It's a damn cat, it's not like your wearing toddler clothes or something. Lol
