Hey, if a bunny logo can be adult why not a kitten? I'd rock a truck nuts logo if I could. I think that's the most hilarious thing ever and grown men rock it!!

Over the years hello kitty has become a brand targeted to adults, MAC cosmetics has a hello kitty makeup line, and Kimora Lee Simmons has a hello kitty jewelry line - all for adults, and others as well. It's not just for kids anymore. It's just a brand, like how any other designer brand is a just a brand, with a unique logo. Don't judge other people's tastes or styles. Everyone likes different things and I'm sure some of the things you are into or wear may make other people nauseous as well. I'm personally not into hello kitty or anything popular, but I hate it when people turn their noses down on other people for dumb reasons.

Uugh, THANK YOU! I can't stand anything at VS, at all. It's so cheesy to me but most of my friends are completely dedicated to that brand. I don't get the appeal. And why do they have so many things that say "PINK" but are obviously green or purple or blue? Does pink have a new definition? I don't get it.

I think some Sanrio stuff is pretty cute. I really like the "Badtz-Maru" character and have for a while. Every so often, I'll go to the little Sanrio store in the mall and buy a notepad or maybe a water canteen. Some totes are cute but it has to be just right, for the money. It's over-priced junk but hell, it is cute to look at and sort of gives me a smile. I kind of like supporting the little shop, too. I'm not a big fan of HK, in particular but I don't really like pink print so it's just not my style. I definitely don't think it's restricted to kids but I am kind of baffled when I see neo-punks with entire HK sleeve-tattoos and such. But hey, the heart wants what it wants and if HK makes you that happy, I say go for it. Who the fuck cares what Charlize Theron thinks, anyway? she has enough money to buy anything she wants, in the world, on demand. What does she know about average-income women enjoying simple pleasures and relatively cheap accessories? That was a pretty bitchy and elitist comment, IMO.

I will say that HK is cute and fun to indulge in but I'm going to have to raise the bar, for my custies, in gift-giving! LOL! If some guy is regularly spending $300+ on a champagne room or $200 a week, on cam with me and tries to woo me with cheap, plastic cartoon toys or panties, I'm going to be a little disappointed in him. I'm a big girl and I want big-girl toys. I'll take the designer shoes or the Prada/Alexander Wang bag, thanks. If he can't afford those kinds of "gifts", cash will do just fine. Save that $20 for MY wallet, please.

Ha. I loved Badtz Maru when I was in HS. Had everything in school supplies with that character.

The HK stuff is really cute and all, just not for me. I'll buy that stuff for my niece.

Wal-Mart is a great place to see the ugliest and fattest people ever.

I'm not into HK myself but I see no problem with people being into it. It's no different than when guys are obsessed with Star Wars and dress like a character (I have seen this).

As far as the Pink line I see it as Victoria's Secret teen/younger adult line. If you go into the regular VS store they still have plenty of lace and silk. Pink is fun, my every day undies are pink and I also love their lounging around type sturff. I'm making an effort to stop wearing sweats and yoga pants every day so I try to not go there anymore. Their cotton undies are cheap, comfy, and cute. VS side is a bit more expensive but nice undies too and worth it. I used to buy a lot of push up bras from VS but now that I have my titties done I only wear sports bras from Target or nothing at all. Oh wait, VS has pasties and tape. I use that stuff too.

perfect timing that i just ran into this thread because our house mom literally just sectioned off all parts of the dressing room counter using Hello Kitty duct tape.

i also had a layover in Taiwan last year and the airport had a HK dedicated bathroom, as well as an HK themed PLANE outside. the fandom is too real.

I know loads of women who are into HK. I think it's cute, but not enough to buy it. I'm 30 and still like some cutesy, girly things-but I don't like HK for different reasons, one, because every 20 something and even older lass I know seems to have it, and I think unless I bought the whole damn collection I'd never be any different and I like to be different, and another being that I think half of what you pay for it, is for the name and I don't like that.
Also, I did get bought a HK little coin-purse type thing once, I used it for make up and the zip broke after a couple of weeks.I'd rather pay the same for a cute coin purse of similar design, that was better quality. Not saying ALL HK stuff is bad quality, I'm sure a lot of it isn't.

I don't have anything against women who like it though. I'm currently wearing a baby-pink dressing gown with hearts on it, my handbag has cupcakes on it, I love ladybirds and have a lot of ladybird jewellery and other ladybird-themed things.
I can't see HK being any different to that, really?

I'm 24 and I love hello kitty! My favorite sanrio character was originally Pochaco a little black and white dog. Anyway I have (and had) a ton of hello kitty stuff, necklaces, pj's, figures, and yes even my bathroom has some hello kitty vinyl decals on the wall. There is something cutesy and lovable about each of the sanrio character. Hell my mother is past her 40's and she LOVES hello kitty along with plenty of things a women her age would love as well.

Even though my hello kitty jewelry were gifts, and I would never purchase them on my own, cause I 'freakin' hate cats, I think there should definitley be a line called- "HELLO CUNT", with a big labia for the design! LOL!

<--------- nuff said although I admit,i only have a cple hello kitty items in my house.Although some may consider it a childs line,Im def not one of those ppl-it started out for girls but has definitely crossed the line into all age brackets. As much as I love her,I am a grown ass woman that has ALOT of bills to pay,so HK gets pushed to the absolute very back of the line.some day ill have enough money to indulge in her though...

I love PINK sweatpants!! Not all that into HK, but I do have a winter hat that's HK and super cute. Doesn't look too kid like. However, I do have an ex obsessed with Hello Kitty and I think that's sort of weird for a guy. To each his own, I guess

I LOVE Hello Kitty; always have. Some of my best childhood memories with my dad include trips to a Sanrio store and just lusting over everything. My current Hello Kitty collection is actually kinda small but is mostly some small household items, accessories, a sweat shirt, a zip up hoodie, and this amazing grey sweater dress, all from a women's collection done by H&M. Actually, when I see a grown up with something awesome and Hello Kitty, they secretly earn bonus points with me. I see the whole thing as just fun.

My secret fantasy is to own property with a pool house and decorate it entirely in Hello Kitty. Like the appliances for the kitchen, the bedding, all the bathroom shit, right down to the toilet paper. Okay, let me stop before I get carried away. Now I'm gonna go to Google image and fantasize.

Funny this thread got brought up again.. I went to work at a new club a couple weeks ago and this snarky waitress came in the office while I was talking with my manager. . starts berating me on my hello kitty tattoo.. She probably expected me to get defensive and start shit with her.. I just smiled and nodded, smiled and nodded.

Lmfao! I am completely obsessed with hello kitty! I have been sense I was a kid, but I think it got worse as I got older. I have tonnns of HK purses, accessories... My whole kitchen is hello kitty themed. I own pretty much every kitchen appliance hello kitty/sanrio has come out with. From the microwave to the pancake maker, coffee maker... I own it. As well as the hello kitty "massager". Yes true story they were sold in Fascinations and online. Pink has always been my favorite color for as long as I can remember and I love hello kitty because shes so cute and to me its just so girly. I would rather rock Hello Kitty over the Playboy bunny anyday. I see tonssss of girls with their playboy gear but its never as cute or brighley colored or as in your face as hello kitty. I never wear anything that either doesnt have sparkle/glitter or anything thats not pink. So obviously I would be one who loves HK. Thank god the hubby thinks hk is cute to hes the one that buys it all for me. Go ahead, make fun.

So far the score is something like 35-2 in favor of Hello Kitty. Do we have a rebuttal from the anti-Kitty camp?

pink is for younger adults/juniors/and teens, and then, people like me who hate satin and lace. the sizes run smaller so obviously not intended for adult women. although adult women can wear whatever they want, doesn't bother me and shouldn't bother anyone i think women who like hello kitty tend to be "girlie"/fem. we can't control how girlie we are, it's a testosterone vs estrogen thing which i can't get into right now. i don't even mind if guys like hello kitty, guess i'm open minded.

What's the problem with wearing Hello Kitty and staying youthful that way?

I know 80 year old women who carry HK purses. It's just a personal preference...

I also know people who visit this...
