Default What to get your mother for Christmas.

Mums are the most difficult to buy for.

I HAD a great idea of getting her a pure wool polo neck jumper, as she's always cold but doesn't like to spend much so her clothes are always high street where everything is mixed with acrylic and stuff that isn't warm. But I can literally only find pure wool jumpers from an online store, and they're out of small sizes in my choice (seriously all the high st shops are charging more for things that just won't be that warm).

Well I guess firstly does anyone know of another supplier (uk would be great)? Or do you have any great ideas for a mother's present? I feel like bath stuff or chocolates is a cop out, plus now I can afford to get her something really nice.

Feel free to use this thread to discuss gift buying for mothers in general, it's an eternal conundrum!

You are in the UK? Get her Ladies of Letters on DVD!!!
I want this series on dvd so bad, but it's not available in the US, DVDs made for Europe...
Or Father Ted, Or Old Guys.

I don't know, I've gotten those for several old people I know, and they seem to love them.
At least I think they're fall-down-hilarious, but I have a pretty dorky sense of humor... I had most of Ladies of Letters on vhs at one time, I never would have tossed the vhs if I had known I couldn't get them on DVD in the US.
I watched it like, 100 times, and it seemed funnier every time I saw it.
Just my 2 cents.

My own mom died a few years ago, and it still bugs me that I didn't send it to her before she died, because I know she'd have thought they were drop-dead funny...but she did drop dead...

i think a gift certificate is great,..maybe be kind of lame and safe, but i have the same problem with my mom ( and sisters) , and i know they need new clothes but i dont want to spend money on something they will hate so i pretty much either take them out shopping or do the gift certif thing. and i agree with gyrator, wool mixed with cashmere or angora is way softer but still very warm!
