    Smiley Newbie in England

    Hello!

    I'm a long term lurker on Stripper Web and I'm booked in for my first night as a lapdancer on Monday. I've been to the club before and everything looks good, but I'm still super nervous. Going to spend the rest of tonight browsing through the forums and planning my hustle.

    Anyhow, would love to talk to other English dancers (I'm in the South West) and just wanted to say hello.

    Thank you! <3

    Getting a little nervous now, don't know whether I should leave my hair curly or straighten it and risk it turning into a poofy mess fifteen minutes in. Going to put lots of effort into my make-up though, so even my hair looks busted my face will be okay.

    If your hair gets poofy when you straighten it, just wear it curly to minimize your nervousness. There are some good products out there to keep it from getting poofy though!

    I know what you're talking about! It's probably too late now, but in the future try straightening your hair and then curling the underlayers closest to your head in big loose curls. Blend the curls into the straight part, and leave the top completely smooth. Tease for extra volume if desired. You can use either a heat styling tool or do pin curls overnight--annoying and a bit of prep yes, but I find I can make a pin curl style last 2 days easily, sometimes 3, so it's worth it, and it does way less damage to your hair, which is something to consider, seeing as you already need to be blow drying or flat ironing it to get it straight. Either way you do it, the curls underneath make it look better the entire night because if you have naturally curly hair when you straighten it it is always going to frizz or start curling halfway through the night no matter what you use, I tried every product that there was between 2002 and 2007 when straight was in. The only exception is when it is really dry, in a dry climate naturally curly gals can rock the straight look a lot more easily but ohh the chapped lips

    Hi! I'm UK too. I was so nervous getting read to go to my first night, I would have cancelled if my friend wasn't joining as well. It was fine once there though!

    Go curly, stripclubs get sweaty and it's rubbish if you're fussing over your hair constantly.

    I have naturally curly hair and while humidity/moisture will often give it a wave when straightened, I've found that John Frieda's Frizz-Ease Original Hair Serum for medium to coarse frizzy hair to be a god-send. After I shower and have towelled my hair but it's still fairly wet, I generously apply it to my hair, concentrating on the roots and ends. I generally go to bed right after I shower, so then in the morning I straighten it and it actually stays straight through several shifts, maybe with having to do minor straightening touch ups of the ends every day or two.

    Thanks for all the advice. <3 I'm heading out in a few hours and I'm going to leave it curly, but style it so it's more wave-y ish so it isn't so in-your-face. Hopefully tonight will go well.

    First night was okay. The club was pretty dead but I managed to make some cash. Was so nervous at the start I was shaking. Everyone was soooo nice and kind though.

    @britchick85 Reading.

    Don't worry about it being dead - it was a Monday night after all! The important thing is that you were still able to make money despite that. Congrats!

    @shannadior Thanks! Going in for my second night now. Less nervous and more motivated.

    hope you are getting used to it, the weekends will be better in Reading tho, I used to work Sugar Lounge when it first opened years ago, weekends were always waay better , I think in the UK only London is better during the week elsewhere I would only do weekends and maybe the odd thursday.

    Agreed. When I worked in Edinburgh, weeknights were, in general, a total bust with at least one girl (if not most) not making her house fee back. Weekends were consistently good though, so I eventually didn't even bother going in during the week.
