It's like waiting tables in any other bar featuring better tips and getting hit on more blatantly. It's pretty simple: you take orders, bring drinks around, and flirt for tips.
If you're asking if it's a good way to start as in you want to be a dancer and use this as a stepping stone, don't waste your time and just become a dancer right away. It's also fairly simple to pick up the basics of that, and it's not like you need experience in a strip club to get hired.
Yes, its the same as waiting tables anywhere but way easier to me. I worked at night so I was mostly only selling drinks so the trays didnt get too heavy but u have to clean which I hate. Clubs like u to push the custies into buying alcohol so ur always saying "wanna drink?" "drink for the lady?" "shots!!?" all night long. Sometimes guys will just give u $$ cuz ur pretty or they like u which doesnt happen often waiting resteraunt tables. If ur wanting to dance yes its a very good way to start its what I did. I watched all the girl's hustles&learned what to do&what not to do b4 diving in head first as a stripper. U can also get great tips by being friendly with the dancers&helping them make $ I give the waitress, floorhost, or anyone working in the club a very nice tip if they hook me up w a big spender& all they had to do was the intro. plus ull gain ur own regulars as a waitress&guys r willing to pay more $$ to see u naked cuz ur "forbidden"lol. Goodluck to u & let us know how it goes!

i wanted to become a waitress first before dancing, but I'm so glad i just bit the bullet and went for what i really wanted, instead of wasting time, because i don't think it would have really helped me any, or given me anymore courage. the waistaff at my club dresses way more sexy than a regular waitress but other than that it's the same thing as any waitressing job.

If I had known then what I know now I probably would of started as a waitress. But only at a club where waitresses can develop regulars that can take them to VIP and at a club I plan to be at for a few years. The custies are basically forced to interact with you so you have a good chance of building a relationship with them by learning their drinks and favorite spot to sit. While probably 90% of the dancers don't even get a shot or might have to wait months. You also get to know their financial situation, what type of credit cards he has, how much he spends, how well he tips.. so when you do make the switch to dancing you know who the big spenders are and what their typical routine is. So you're not gonna blindly rush over and get sent away because he likes to drink alone first or won't spend big if he's with a certain friend, things like that. You also get to see the top hustlers working their magic right in front of you.. if you're another dancer there's no way they'd let you watch and learn like that. You also will get treated better by management and other male employees as a waitress. Of course you'll eventually be grouped with the dancers but at least you have a good first impression which can potentially reflect on you later. And of course the guys that keep asking when you'll become a dancer and you keep playing the modest "good girl" will become pretty decent regulars when you finally let them "convince" you to give it a shot. Just my 2 cents.
Gummybear, ur so right ur much more of a challenge to a guy as a waitress which means hell have to do much more for u just to even get u to take ur clothes off where as a stripper ur usually almost naked the 1st time u meet.
Gummybear all that is hypothetical bc you didn't actually waitress.
One of the girls at my club who is very pretty and was a very popular waitress... she was always hamming it up w the customers. always listening to them flatter her about how she should dance blah blah. Well first off as a waitress she was willing to spend way more time with a customer for 10 or 20 bucks than any dancer so she was getting a very distorted view of how desirable she was. Literally every dancer at the club found her very annoying because she didn't pick up empty beer bottles or empty out ashtrays, just kept looking for a lap to sit on. She never helped any dancer by telling us when a guy had an open tab, she was just about herself. So eventually she did decide to start dancing and she is really struggling. The exact same customers who were blowing smoke up her ass when she was carrying a waitress tray look right past her in her stripper costume and plastic heels. She might have been prime real estate her first few days but now everyone's seen it and nobody cares. She has no stripper hustle whatsoever, has a very hard time selling dances, and leaves early literally every night. She only ever learned one hustle, and that's the whole, look at me I'm different not like the other girls thing. So now she's lost.
And trust me, there is no customer, ever, so loyal that they won't dump you quickly and easily. Any customer can replace you, it's important to always know that.
And if you are trying to get $$$ from the customers doing dances or vip's (while waitressing), every dancer in there will be 100% hateful towards you, many will not order drinks from you and divert their big customers from you, cutting into your waitressing money, and have fun switching over to dancing after you've made a bad impression...
I'm not saying you can't make good money waitressing, one of our waitresses has been there 7 years and makes hundreds every night. Most of our waitresses do not move to dancing. Waitressing is good money. Also be aware, most managers might let you move from waitressing to dancing but if you decide you don't like dancing you can't just move back, they won't let you play musical chairs like that. So make a decision & go for it.
