I'm from Nebraska and this is totally true. I live in a 2-bedroom 2-bath apartment and including utilities it's less than $700 for my roommate and I to live here. It's a great, safe place with awesome things (pool, fitness center, etc). I also believe that we are trying to change our state tax by eliminating some tax (don't quote me, I don't remember the article completely!). Basically, Nebraska is not too bad, except for the snow! The cost of living isn't too bad and it's a great place to raise a family if that's what you desire.

Hi everyone! I'm new here and hoping for a small bit of advice. For those of you who have moved abroad. Are you living in the other countries under tourist visas? If so, are you just camming online and keeping addresses for mail and bank accounts in the US? Just curious how this works legally. I was under the impression if I am in another country with a tourist visa I am unable to work there but I wasn't sure how that panned out if I am working online. Thanks so much (:

^^^ in order to get the 'foreign income' exclusion from the IRS, you need to reside OUTSIDE the USA for 330 days of the year - which typically requires a permanent resident visa ( but some countries will allow infinite renewals of tourist visas ). Your official residence a.k.a. 'tax home' also needs to be outside the USA.

In regard to camming, unless the webcam host is located in the same foreign country that you are residing in, camming earnings are not considered to be income earned ( i.e. working ) in the foreign country you are residing in. Thus you aren't violating any visitor's visa limitations because, technically speaking, none of your income is derived from an 'employer' based in the country you are residing in. As such, that camming income will not be taxed by the foreign country you are residing in.

And while the IRS will attempt to tax income earned by a US citizen from a US based webcam host no matter where that US citizen is residing, if you are ( for example ) a US citizen, but residing in Panama 330 days of the year, and working from Panama for a webcam host based in Cyprus, neither the US nor Panama will be able to tax ANY of the first $106,000 you earn !!!!!

Why do you say that ? What is wrong with Dallas ? Not trying to argue. Just curious.

^^^ I think that the Dallas reference involved Texas still being part of the USA ... thus Dallas resident camgirls are still exposed to a 15.3% Social Security tax PLUS a 10-20-30% federal income tax ( depending on income level ) even though Texas does not impose a state income tax on top of the federal taxes. Thus for a serious full time camgirl earning $2,000 per week by working for non-US based webcam hosts, living in Dallas versus living 'south of the border' makes a ~$30-40,000 per year difference in actual after-tax income !!! And in most cases, that extra $30-40,000 in annual disposable income resulting from the legal tax avoidance is enough to 'live like a queen' in that 'south of the border' country ... meaning that the other $60-70,000 of after-tax income can be saved and invested !!!

Dallas is far from being on the path to Detroit. I live in Dallas and it's quite nice here. If you are living in the States the cost of living is low compared to other areas of the country. All cities have their safe areas and unsafe areas anyways.

Someone mentioned Vegas. I lived there for three years and it seemed like it would be cool because of the Strip but that is the only place that's cool and it is designed to take tourist money. Hence the nickname Lost Wages. Outside the Strip it is really a bleak landscape. My Husband refers to it as Afghanistan with casinos. The weather in the winter is cold but not bad but the summer is brutal. A dry heat you say? When it's 114 it won't matter if it's dry or wet.

Mexico might be good for some girls but many have families and it is not a place to raise kids. 35,000 + Mexican citizens have been killed in the drug wars. Sure a lot of people are killed here but the difference is that it's concentrated in a smaller area.

Retiring there would be nice though.

As for this thread, since I started it, I think I'm just going to stay in California. There's really no reason for me to leave right now. I've wanted to move to New York, but perhaps when I'm really old and bored with life I will. There's just no incentive to right now. I may do a year somewhere in the future though, but only if it benefits my work. I know Europe is really fetish-friendly, and I've had fun there before, so maybe that's in my future. But for the most part, I'm going to stay where I'm happiest.

I get bored too fast. And I don't like large houses. So I don't really have a reason to move despite the high tax rate and renting/buying expenses.

    GlamourRouge,

If you ever do move down to Dallas let us Southern girls know and we can tell you what we know about the area. Have fun out in Cali!

I could never live in Houston. No offense to anyone that lives there. It's just not for me.

My dream is to move to Spain, specifically the Balearic Islands.

Since there was a big camming convention held recently in Barcelona, I am hoping it's a sign that the country is somewhat relaxed about online porn (or, at the very least, not Hollywooding about banning in). If anyone has any thoughts or info, I'd love to hear it.

Of course I have googled here and there, but staying up and doing my taxes has made this dream take on new urgency, LOL!

What about Mexico? Would the situation be the same if it was Mexico instead of Panama? Do you by any chance happen to know if the camming website streamate is an America company?
