Default Do you get dehydrated at work?

I drink water at work, just tap water, regularly, all night at regular intervals if I'm driving-also if I'm not driving I get bought alcoholic drinks, but I still make sure I drink water too.
I've found recently I'll get home from work and realise I've not been to the bathroom for up to 5 hours! It's weird for me-even if I'm out and drinking alcohol, I make water fairly often-if I'm home I go quite often. I run regularly, sometimes long runs and often have to stop for a pee even though I'm sweating!
Is the club a particularly dehydrating environment? Anybody else experience it? I don't know what to do other than make sure I drink more than I do now, but even then It's worrying me a little in case I'm damaging my health.. If I get busy I don't get much chance to grab a drink...Trying to think of another solution...?

I'm basically the same as you - don't really drink at work often and regularly drink water throughout the shift - except that I don't ever feel dehydrated. I don't put on particularly energetic stage shows or over-exert myself with lap dances, so that could certainly be a factor. I'd say keep a glass of water with you at all times. I bring one with me when I sit with customers and even when I go to the back for dances because I like to have something to drink afterwards. That'll keep you hydrated even if you're busy and don't have a chance to go the dressing room or bar.

i experience it big time. after each stage set tho i slug down a glass of water or two because I'm so damn parched i can't think of anything else..last time i must have drank 5 glasses but i know that wasn't even enough. I've been trying to drink a lot more at work because ill come home feeling like crap with a headache. I'm going to bring some bottled waters in and try and drink every hour..i don't drink alcohol at work but i would imagine that would dehydrate you even more but you might not notice it :/

Thanks girls-I'm glad it isn't just me. I do do quite energetic stage shows, and I do them for other girls too-girls who don't like doing them-I don't mind as I see it as good exercise and it gets me noticed...We're only on stage for five minutes, though...I'm just going to up my water intake-especially toward the end of the night when it's busy. I like having a few tipples at work, but I may start asking customers to get me a glass of water, and keep some in my bag-I did this in the past but stopped because it makes my bag so heavy! lol

If you're peeing often (and it's clear/weak) then you're not using all the water you're putting in so nice and hydrated. If you're not peeing all shift you'r enot necessarily dehydrated... could be just balanced, but you probably just need more. If you're wee is weak and clear when you do go that's good.

I found drinking tap water just felt too heavy to drink lots while working... switched to soda water and for some reason this is fine!

Also, SIP at the water over time. If you guzzle a glass down it goes through you, slow n steady to keep hydrated. +1 on keeping a drink with you to sip after each dance.

i was just thinking about this because i woke up and chugged a half gallon of water! i get dehydrated a lot at work too, i just get really busy and forget or i am too busy and don't. thanks for sharring! just a tip, room temp water is much easier on your insides when you are parched, may not taste yummy but you can get more down faster.

Okie I'm a camgirl, but I hope this one helps someone...

I drink Lucozade Isotonic Performance Fuel and it's a frigging lifesaver in terms of helping me stay both hydrated and energetic. I have no idea if this drink gets sold internationally, but it's more than worth it if you can find it.

If you can't find it, there must be different Isotonic drinks internationally.. something nice with with carbs and electrolytes! XD

I've thought about getting stuff like that. I'd have to get sugar free or I bet I'd pile weight on fairly quickly-but it's a good idea!

I say get in on those carbs! XD

Especially when you've been performing for ages, your body needs those nutrients (and fat is still an essential nutrient), and you'll only burn them off when you're performing anyhow. It can really help so much.

I definitely notice the difference myself depending on if I've been drinking those isotonic carby drink vs sugar-free energy drinks. I'll always opt for the former. I call it my Go-Go Juice.. :3
