Hi everyone I have been lurking on here for quite some time now. Just wanted to let everyone know this website is has given me lots of information and motivation.

I had a baby a year and 1 1/2 ago whom i will breastfeed until he is 2, however i would like to go back to work soon so i am going to start a new workout regimen so that i can keep up with what i did and when......all are welcome to join. I do still eat quite a lot because of the breastfeeding. I started at 156 after my son was born and i am 5 2. I went on and off anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months of working out. I am down to 130. My goal is 110. Last time i work out was this past summer for 2 months july and august and lost 10 pounds which i have kept off due to eating mainly at home and healthier most days. I like to start off slow and then add more exercise i go so i wont get disheartened.

Healthy diet and workout both are necessary for the good health and fitness.
You daily diet must be the healthy and balanced, it must be include all foods element in shape of vitamins, protein, fiber, calcium, cabs, mineral, and nutrition to maintain a good health.
Workout must be daily for at least 30 minutes a day without any interval.

if you're breastfeeding you really need to be eating alot more than that. especially protein

^i agree. i assume you are eating more than that normally right? be careful about drastically lowering your food intake suddently, it can trick your body into going into starvation mode and it just stores as much fat as it can..plus, the baby needs more nutrients than that im guessing..when i was breastfeeding it sucked the fat right out of me, i had to eat a lot just to keep my normal weight!

I agree that OP likely needs more sustenance especially given that she's nursing, but the somehow still popular "starvation mode" theory has been studied and is largely accepted as false.

news to me, i've always read that it would slow your metabolism because your body tries to hold onto every calorie it gets and it stalls weight loss ..i've heard of many previously anorexic girls who's metabolism and thyroid is permanently fucked from starvation, but i may be wrong. the health and beauty info/rules seem to change every year!

I thought that was due to hormone fluctuation due to malnutrition? You need nutrients from calories to create hormones, but you get all the nutrients you need and more if you eat the right things totaling like 1,000 calories a day. If you're not eating healthy and are anorexic (coffee and cigarettes diet anyone?), then there will be problems. Otherwise, not so much as long as those nutrients are being regularly digested.

IA, and I don't know why this is. Probably because the media wants us to keep spending $$$ on meals while simultaneously hating our bodies so we spend on weight loss products and fetishize model bodies unattainable without eating less than 1,200 calories a day. ...The exact thing they say we shouldn't be doing.

The starvation mode theory makes absolutely zero sense considering in caveman times that's how everyone ate. Did all humans circa caveman era have bodies in starvation mode then? If so, how did our species survive? Lol it makes zero sense.

could you site any articles? i've searched around and they all say the same thing. and she is breastfeeding..now idk how many of you have breastfed, but it takes a lotta calories outta ya! she could end up being malnourished as well as her baby. your body holding onto calories make perfect sense to me

also, cavemen probably didn't pig out on mcondalds like we do, and then go to 1,000 calories a day ( not saying the op pigs out on mcondalds or anything ). im still of the opinion 1,000 calories a day isn't really enough even for a a normal girl who is not breastfeeding.
