Default Newbie confused about vip charges

Ok so my latest confusion is about vip charges. I know my club charges approxately $300 for half hour vip. I say approx cuz I know there are fees added on for credit card etc. now here's my question. I worked last night and guy agrees to half hour vip. He was charged $312 on credit card for "funny money". After half hour he agrees to another half hour and second time he was charged $192. Host suggested $60 tip per charge. Still a little intimidated so didn't want to question the difference in charges. Shouldn't each half hour be same amount or is second half hour usually discounted?? I just want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off here. Or at the very least I don't want to say a half hour is 300 then find out its almost half that.

Also, for 15 min in curtained booth it's $125. I did 2 of those and all that money went to club and I just got cash tips from custies. I swear mgr told me that 125 went to me. Please help I'm afraid they're taking advantage of me since I'm new to this business and club.

Sounds like maybe the VIP host/hostess isn't giving you your fair cut (at least from the last part. Of that $125 the customer spent, SOME of it should be going to you.) The way it works in most clubs I've worked at for VIP, money goes to the host/hostess upfront and then they are responsible for giving the dancer their cut after the VIP time is up and the customer has left.

As for the first part, they may have specials? You're only going to get the answer if you ask someone in your club, though. No one here will know specifics of your club unless they've worked there before, but something doesn't sound right. You should talk to your manager at the beginning of your next shift and get it sorted out.

yes, you really need to ask those questions at your club..as for the second VIP, a lot of clubs discount the second one. for most champagne rooms, you get most of the money but a cut goes to the club. you should have gotten paid for the 125 i would imagine ( but every club is different). also, ask them about the funny money, because at a lot of clubs they take maybe 2 dolllars off every 20 dollar bill for example, maybe more, and that goes to the club. really know the rules before you start doing the champagne rooms, right 'em down at first if they are confusing. its a cutthroat business, you need to look out for yourself and your money, good luck!

Definitely ask your manager, I'd say it sounds like something shady going on. The $312 sounds right, the extra $12 or whatever would be fees for using the card. But I've no idea why the second session would be much cheaper. Some clubs take a percentage out of dances/VIPs too, but I've never heard of a club that would keep 100% of two $125 blocks. Maybe if you were in some crazy-exclusive club in Vegas or something... . You shouldn't have to rely only on tips to make money, this isn't waitressing and for dancing, you should be getting to keep the majority of the money.

You really have to get clarification from management and the VIP host about what the deal is here. You're also likely going to have to grow a bit of a backbone and confront the host when he's trying to rip you off, as it sounds like he has here. You're probably right on the money in thinking that you're being taken advantage of because you're new, as he doesn't think you know any better or will stand up to him even if you do. So, get clarification from management on what your cut is and the additional half hour business, and next time you're in a VIP with that host, clarify with him how much you get it. If you're not a very confrontational person, frame it in a way where you're highlighting your newness and confirming with him since you're not sure rather than calling him out. This is your livelihood that he's basically stealing from you, so you really have to stand up for yourself or else it'll keep happening.

    Something sounds hinky.

I am aware of one hour rooms going for $500. I know that if rooms are sold at half hour intervals at $300 per half hour, the customer pays $300 at first, then $300 more... for a total of of $600. You can't (as far as I fucking know) retroactively charge a one hour rate for two half hour rooms.

    Check with your manager.
    This isn't normal.
