Default Perfect Songs to Dance To: Alternative rock to Oldies

    Hey Ladies,

I am looking for a list of songs to dance to that are different from my usual style (rap/hiphop/r&b)! Sometimes I'll tell the DJ to play something different and he will play some good alternative rock songs but then I forget to ask the name of the song so I can request it again!

So have it it ladies! Give me your best money maker songs! ...One song I like to give an idea of what I am looking for is "Hotel California" but I am sure you ladies can come up with something better than that!

    Song/Band
Sex Type Thing- Stone Temple Pilots
Head Like a Hole- Nine Inch Nails
    Dirt- Alice in Chains
    Schism- Tool
    Hole in the Earth- Deftones
    Pardon Me- Incubus

All of these are well-known songs (crowd pleasers) and easy to dance to.

None are really like Hotel California, but I personally find that song too boring for a strip club. You need energy!

hotel california isn't alternative...it's classic rock. good classic rock songs for the SC are pour some sugar on me, mother (by danzig), whole lotta love (the cut version), american woman

if you want alternative it will sound really weird in a set with hotel california. generally anything from 90s till now, everything from soft stuff like maroon 5 to hard stuff like system of a down gets lumped into "alternative." a good rule of thumb is to play songs people already know, the most recognizable songs.

If you look through the Music Mix subforum, there's already a ton of threads that list alternative rock and oldies music to dance to. Charlotte is right that Hotel California isn't alternative though and would certainly sound strange in a set with an alternative song.
