Clubs will charge you a house fee to work. You have to pay this every night you work. There also might be a required tip out to staff. They also might take so much for every song you sell. Fees vary greatly from club to club. Where I work we also have to come up with $500 for an adult entertainers license yearly. That's the city's decision... And isn't very common. I've never heard of a body check... Maybe someone else can answer that? Or put in into context?
Welcome around!

"Body check" could be a poor term for an audition? In other words, they probably just want to see how you look/move in a bikini or lingerie (to get an idea of what you would look like on stage etc). But I would ask management, "So, is a body check just an audition or...?". Because it's a term I've never encountered.

IME 'body check' has just consisted of, after filling out my paperwork in the manager's office, pulling up my shirt & doing a quick 360° turn so he can see if my stomach is flat enough, no stretch marks, no tramp stamps, that kind of thing. I've only ever had one club that required an audition, but even that place did this b4 they put me up on stage.

Never heard of a body check. Every club has house fees and tip outs/dj fees... Each one is different. Call and find out at the bar you want to work at. They'll have all the answers for you; )
