Mind Blowing RAM Capacity: 384 MB?????

So my computer is running slow as shit. My sisters had it before I did and I haven't actually cammed on it yet, but I was hoping to. It was running slower than molassis, so I figured I'd trouble shoot it a bit. Got a malware/adware scanner, planning to defrag pretty quick... but in my effort to trouble shoot in the limited ways that I know, I figured I would check my memory and RAM... so I opened my general computer information, and my Total capacity (C: & D: ) is 232.88 GB with only 15.35 in use. Then I saw the RAM, and I'm thinking, what the hell???

Can anybody PLEASE help me out with this? I will open tits bb =P But really... Please help? =(

Are you sure that is the RAM vs hard drive? 232 gigs of RAM is .... well, an AWFUL lot. That sounds like hard drive space. If your computer is running slow, you'd be lucky to have 1 GB of RAM.... Or do you mean MB? HUUUGE difference!

Nooo the 232 is the C and D drives. My RAM says it's at 384 MB. Even my friend's shitty netbook has a gig, so what gives? =(

What is the total ram your computer can handle? If it is a semi modern computer, you should have atleast 2GB of ram. How many programs were you running when you checked it? Each running program eats up your ram. How many programs are set to startup when you start the computer? This wll also eat up your ram by having unnecessary programs in starting your computer. And what malware/adware program are you using?

It sounds to me like you need a new computer 384 is right in the middle between a quater gig and half a gig most computers these days that are sold are between 4-8 if I'm correct. The most you can have inside a comp without having it spill out right now is 32. Some ppl go crazy hardcore and put so much ram inside thier comps they have to pop the side of the case off and add more ram ribbons to thier mommy boards (doubt you would need or want to go there just FYI stuff). No wonder you're computer is slow tho. My suggustion would be to get a new computer because just from the amount of ram you have your computer is very old and I'm surprised you're able to still use it. The thing about computers and why they become obsolete is because technonolgy is always changing and getting better many programs and things become so intricate in a programming sense that older machines cant even run them. An examble would be I probably wouldnt even be able to run any or at the very least most of my MMORPGs on my laptop running off windows 98 that I had when I was 18. Thats the best way I can expalin it I'm sure other ppl migh be able to explain it better.
