If there are strippers bragging about their earnings to the media, they're probably lying.

ive heard about that town before. I assume its inflated but even if it isnt, there are tons of reasons why that place is not necessarily the "best" place for strippers. since the population is so heavily male and blue collar I would feel unsafe. im assuming that its really spread out there and not dense which makes it even more worrying. in big cities like lv& nyc that have loose liquor laws there are always tons of people around and its not uncommon to be hot and female and out at night. not to mention the weather...weather kills $$ for me. I get SAD or lazy and big storms will shut out customers. yuck.
anyway, itd be interesting to hear from girls who have worked there but I would be scared to travel there.

Williston isn't the first boom town, and it certainly won't be the last. Typically dancers working in boom town clubs will face the following ...
- having to pay outrageous prices for rent, food, etc.
- atrocious weather and surroundings
- absolutely nothing 'worthwhile' or even 'interesting' or for that matter even 'safe' to do or check out when you are not in the club
- local law enforcement that is 'blind in both eyes'
- non-stop high mileage expectations from club customers ... which other dancers are probably more than willing to accomodate for the right price
- a clubowner who can treat his dancers any way he wants to
- fellow dancers who are 'mercenary' to say the least
While that boom town situation is bad enough, when word is put out in national media that dancers are earning outrageous amounts of money, the IRS usually won't be very far behind. And with poorly documented dancer earnings, there's nothing to stop the IRS from 'estimating' that dancers working at the boom town club did in fact earn the $5,000+ per week that the media stories report they did. With nothing but the word of a 'lying, thieving, drug addicted, self-serving stripper' to prove to an IRS judge that the dancer DIDN'T actually earn the $5,000 a week that IRS agent claims she did, it's entirely possible that 50%+ of the money that the dancer did actually earn will wind up going toward taxes !!!
I worked at a boom town club once and it was TWO times too many !!! I was 'outa there' at the end of my second week. Net of expenses and 'lost opportunity costs' i.e. spending time travelling when I could have been earning money in a big city club much closer to home, it was definitely a 'loser' !
