Mind Blowing improvising my audition outfit?

I wanted to audition weeks ago But my finances are extremely low I have managed to find 3 nice thongs that were and a some sexy thigh high lace stockings but I need tops bras rompers just something for my upper body and shoes. I was looking at some high rollers in my area (nyc) and noticed one girl just cut up a tanktop as her top. and I have 5inch heels but aren't platform stripper standard. Will it be ok to improvise until I make some money dancing. also I am black and this whole no lotion thing has me worried. I can't be ashy any suggestions to help?

Yes, wearing some nice, sexy lingerie that you already have should be just fine. But you should call the club you want to work at and ask if they have any rules about what you can and can't wear. Many girls wear regular heels when they first start, but a pair of stripper platforms should be one of your first purchases or else your feet are going to really hurt, and plus, they just look much, much better than regular heels. A pair of plain, 7 inch Pleaser brand heels can be found for about $40 or less. Every shop that I've been to that sells stripper wear and shoes offers a dancer discount between 10 and 30%, so make sure you mention you're a dancer. You can wear lotion, you just can't slather on a ton of slick lotion right before you get to the club. I use Aveeno unscented lotion and I think because it's water based, it just soaks right in and actually HELPS me stick to the pole better. Try finding lotion that doesn't leave your skin super silky and slick once it soaks in and you should be fine.

Like APS said, you'll be fine for auditioning and getting through your first shift in whatever you have on hand as long as you call and find a club without a strict dress code.

As long as you don't use lotion right before a stage show, you'll be fine too. Put it on before work and after getting off stage if you feel like you need to reapply during your shift.

6" & 7" heels are the standard, but I do just fine in 5" heels - in fact I prefer them, a little on the thicker side rather than stiletto, b/c they are much easier on my joints. Nobody's going to be eyeballing you for one inch on your shoes, start w/ the 5" if that's what's comfy for you & you can always work up.
