Who here commutes, and how far do you commute to your club and back, what kind of problems does it create or not create for you? I'm trying to decide if commuting to a better club is a good idea. especially with late nights an all.

I drive about an hour and my club closes a 3:00 AM. Usually don't leave til 3:30, get home at 4:30, shower, in bed just before sunrise. Hate it!! I've recently switched to day shift -- I don't mind the drive, but I do mind missing all that good sleep...
I drive an hour to and from work. I don't mind it as long as the night was profitable. There's nothing I hate more than driving an hour there and barely making anything, so I try to line it up with only working the days I think I'll make the most. The one problem it seems to cause me is that I end up leaving early almost every single night I work because I get tired and I worry about doing the drive when I'm that tired. I end up leaving about an hour and half before close and I KNOW I could make an extra 100-200 extra, but I just hate the drive when I'm so tired.
yeah my biggest worry is about being tired and leaving around 3am my drive would be about an 1 15 min, it also would suck if I didn't make money since my car is terrible on gas
Currently I usually get the train to my usual club. I set off at 20:30 and the train comes at 20:45, I'm at work for 21:30. I usually get a lift home. There's 2 clubs just up the road, but the earning potential is crap and I didn't like working there.
When I move, I'll be car sharing with another girl-again there are clubs closer but I have heard they're crap. I've asked her and the car journey takes 45 mins to an hour. I try to make sure I sleep late on the days I work so that I don't get too tired to drive. I take caffeine tablets if I need to as well.
It'll be more difficult now I'm responsible for taking someone else home as I have in the past ended up too tired to drive and stopped over somewhere-I can't do that if I gotta get her home too.
An hour isn't much really though if you think about how many other people in vanilla jobs have to travel to and from work at least that every day ,public transport, traffic jams, etc
it would be sweet if I could take the bus/train, but we don't have any public transportation

With Houston, we may sit in traffic for three hours getting to the club, then have a half-hour drive home. In that sort of situation, you may find yourself weighing the decision to try to get to work on time (and likely get caught in traffic, or have to get in the area earlier and hang out for a long time), or go in late because it's easier traffic-wise to drive after 7 (but it will mean more in house fees). The better clubs are on the other side of Houston from me, and they're worth the drive.
This makes me less worried about driving, an hour doesn't seem like anything
An hour, I am fine with . That's a fairly 'Normal' journey to work. Anything else I have to think about!Lol. I'm not precious about dancing and will work in my hometown if I can-at the moment I choose not to because the earning potential is just rubbishso I have to drift a little further!

I usually have lived fairly close. Further I've gone is 1 hour and that was for special nights at a club I worked at. I started dancing when gas really wasn't too bad but I've seen it get ridiculous. I've always took that into careful consideration. The one good thing is if you work night shift you really don't have to worry about rush out traffic!
the club in my town is rubbish, its a no contact no lap dance club an everyone makes fun of it. the best thing is I will be moving to the bigger city in may so it would only be a commute for a few months

My drive is usually 45min to an hr getting there, & have to go around D/FW area. I try to leave around 18h to avoid rush hr traffic, rarely stay all nite just b/c I'm worried abt the drive when I'm so damn tired. It's the most draining part of this job for me, I think, esp on the nites it's so slow making your house fee back is a struggle - there seem to have been more & more nites like that lately. I decided F'k being late w/ the rent this month, I'll be late w/ it anyway & it's not worth almost 2hrs of driving to come home w/ $60-$100 if I'm lucky.

I drive about 20 minutes to work each way and I think that is horrible! I can't imagine driving an hour to work every day.
I use to live five minutes from work. Since I work five days a week, it makes more sense for me to locate closer to the club.
Yes five days I definitely wouldn't do an hour!I only work Fri and Sat nights at the moment. If it was any more than that, I think it would take its toll!

i drive 20-30 mins to work, depending on traffic and weather..not bad, but it used to be 2 hours! i got a cheap motel room for the night and just worked my ass off consecutive days..otherwise, i wouldn't have gotten any sleep at all , unless i fell asleep driving
its been much better for me to relocate though, the money was definitely worth it and i love a change of pace and location.

I get the train and cabs my journey takes hour and half, there are alot of places like 20 mins away in central London but no way would I work any of them nowadays, I miss the the days them clubs were good!, I travel because I have to!
xoxo
I want to relocate but first i need money to be able to do that
I travel an hour, to work in a dive! Because I make money there. The nicey nicey clubs nearby are rubbish for £ now! Seems daft doesn't it ! I say a Dive, it looks very divey but the girls are looked after and the staff nice so perhaps it's a nice club disguised as a dive lol

I travel to dives too.^
xoxo
Glad I'm not the only one! I get a lot of 'Why do you work here !? You'd make so much more at (club nearest which is the one right by where I live)! It's SOO much nicer!'
(Dude yes, it might be 'Nicer' but it's cheap to get in and full of cheap men in cheap suits, housefee's heavy and no VIP room)............

i drive about an hour. its worth it to me because more $$$ down there, and also i don't see anyone i know. wouldn't be good for my day job in sales...

I drive a little over an hour. I work day shift because I HAAAATE driving at night. I love living far away from work because I'm paranoid about customers following me home lol. Plus the long drive is so great. Driving relaxes me![]()

I preferred commuting 30 miles to work. I didn't run into my neighbors and it gave me 30 minutes to wind down before I got home.

40 minutes each way by car- or 2 hours on the bus. I miss the days when I used to dance in Montreal. I'd take the metro from Rosemont to downtown and work at any number of busy clubs on Sainte Catherine downtown and take a taxi home.
Round trip took less than 30 minutes and cost less than $15!

My favorite club to work at used to take me an hour to get there by train...and then because there was less service at night, it would take about 2 to get back. It felt worth it back then, and I couldn't sleep before 4 or 5 am anyway. Now, if it takes more than an hour to get to a club I'm like, uuhh..
