Default A SERIOUS money drought at my club...help!!!

Hello lovelies! I haven't posted in FOREVER but hopefully some of you remember me lol I've been super busy but I came back because I NEED help in the worst way right now

So ever since the beginning of the winter there has been a huge decline in cash flow at my club. The last 3 weeks have been dreadful!! I got lucky on a few shifts (made enough last Thursday to pay all my bills from one guy!) so I'm keeping my head above water but I've had to seriously tighten up my spending to keep it that way. It's been BAD and I don't mean like "damn I only made $150!" bad I mean like sneaking-out-the-back-door-so-you-don't-have-to-pay-house-fee-because-you-only-got-one-freaking-dance bad.

I know it's not just me. A lot of the girls have been having mental breakdowns over it and my managers have said the lap dance numbers are way down. Overall I'm coping pretty well with it and I'm actually averaging better than most. I've been hitting the gym a lot and started seeing a therapist to keep myself mentally tough but some days it's SO hard. I come to work and everyone is crying and complaining. Girls are getting so desperate with the customers it's like they'll do anything to make a few bucks and the guys take advantage. I refuse to sell myself short and I would rather wait for the guy who will spend full price on a dance or champagne room than act desperate but that means I'll end up doing really well or REALLY horribly.

What the hell do I do to make money? How do you guys cope when business is slow?

Also this seems to be slow everywhere pretty much, especially this time of year & in most industries.

I use slow times to build more regular customers since I don't feel like I am missing out on other $$ by spending extra time with them. I prefer slower night shifts anyways; so during our slow times of the year I actually thrive.

Work more shifts, check out a dif club, take a strip trip to the south, grab a side job at a bar or a plain old vanilla job on the side till you ride it out, or cam like Simone said. Winter time is pretty tough for most folks. Good Luck!

Business is slow.I made about 2/3 of what I usually expect to make, tonight :/ & last night I left early for the first time in 2 years because it was so dead and the atmosphere was so bad I thought I'd rather be home chilling out and not earning than staying here, not earning plus listening to everybody whinging! It sounds as if your club has the atmosphere at the moment like that-where everybody breeds negativity!
I think it's just the time of year-one thing I do, do is over xmas when it's busier, I try to save the extra because I know the next couple months can be unpredictable-also if I go on weekend breaks (I rarely holiday abroad but if i did it's the same) I try to make those Jan/Feb so that I am scheduled to have any time off that I have, during the slow weeks. I supplement my income by doing shoots, selling knicks etc during this time, I learned this early on in stripping-switching clubs is a good idea-even if only temporary-if you're not earning you've not much to lose-if nothing else at least you may make new contacts/friends for future maybes even entice a new regular to your usual club if you choose to go back there when things pick up xx

Not wanting to swing to far off topic, but for a fact since the first of the year all US club customers have seen their paychecks shrink due to Social Security tax increases. Many US club customers have also seen their after-tax earnings shrink even further due to higher tax rates on investment income, on their 'big bucks' paychecks, on the 'equivalent cash value' of employer provided health insurance, etc. Additionally, businessmen club customers are seeing their business profits shrink due to THEIR customers having less after-tax money to spend, due to new ObamaCare related costs to their businesses, etc. And the costs of 'necessities', from food to utility bills to health insurance to property taxes, continue to increase. So this leaves club customers with significantly less 'discretionary income' available to be spent on dancers !!!

If there is a bright side, it's that somewhere out there lots of club customers remain whose earnings / incomes are still very high. The trick of course is to find where these club customers are located, to move to those areas, and to cash in.

I tried a few other clubs with the same results everywhere. Banked the first night, then made no money the next few times I came back. Awful!!! I'm very seriously considering going down south for a week or so. I have friends in a few southern states and a lot of dancers have been talking about going. Thanks a lot for the encouragement everyone I knew I could count on you guys!

With all the snowbirds and other tourists attracted by the warm weather, the southern states are certainly a likely candidate for being financially lucrative. I have a friend who works in Georgia and South Carolina, and she's always said that this is their season.

Isn't there some important sports stuff going on in NOLA right now? I would head there asap, if it's that bad & not waste anymore time about it even debating.

And as for the flight thing -drive instead. Road trips are waaaay cheaper & more fun. If you don't have a car then rent one or take Amtrak or Metra train instead. Any of these options comes out cheaper than flying. And if you need a place to stay that's cheap or something -some clubs have dancer housing available for traveling dancers or there's very cheap digs available at hostels in most major cities. So one viable solution to your dilemma.

I tripled my earnings by heading south a few days ago. I would highly recommend it this time of year.

Superbowl is on tonight, but it's a little late for the OP to head down for that. Not to mention that, when there are big sports games, TONS of girls migrate to those cities hoping to get in on a piece of the action. Any extra spending it likely spread amongst all the girls, thus not increasing earnings much - and that's assuming you get there early enough for the club to actually hire you. As greedy as clubs can be with house fees, they don't want the club to be literally full of dancers. It's also unlikely to expect dancer housing in these situations.

Still, taking the train or going on a roadtrip isn't a bad option!

Don't feel bad. I decided to start working again last Friday. I figured I would be ok even though its slow season. I'd rekindle relationships with regulars and show the "new" girls that I had my place in the club. And since it was my first night back I didn't want to deal with dumb college kids anyway. It happened to be extra slow with too many girls because it was like 10 degrees out and started snowing. I'm not one with the option to migrate and don't want to audition at a new club until I loose my baby pooch. FML So don't take it personally. The majority of us are getting knocked sideways right now, but it won't last forever. Just wait it out or go to the money.

Yeah it looks like I'm gonna have to wait it out. Fortunately I've had good shifts ever since I posted this! This is seriously the worst winter I've ever had though and I've learned a very valuable lesson about SAVING MONEY!! I've been a dancer for so long that I've gotten used to the mentality that if I need money I just go to work and never thought about what I'd do if the money wasn't there!
