    Default 'crunchy' knee

I was doing stationary lunges last night, and my back knee starting 'cracking' when I went to full range. It wasnt painful, more discomfort, but certainly wasnt pleasant!
Now when im walking around the house my kneecap is crunchy, and clicking when I sit/rise.
Any ideas? I dont want to cause an injury, but Im not sure if this is just a normal ache as Im overweight and unfit.

My entire body has been doing this for years. Legs, arms, hands, hips, back, everything. It freaks people out a lot- they'll be like "are you okay?!?!" and I'm like "huh what? oh that happens all the time don't worry." I would say, if its not causing you any pain, don't worry about it. I best a doctor would tell you the same thing.

i just went to the gym today and the trainer there told me doing backward lunges were way better for your knees. also warm up before you start for around 5 min and its easier on your joints. i also drink "joint juice" as i've had problems with my knees and its helped!

Ooh, my knees make that noise. I shredded the muscles that keep my kneecaps in place when I was 16, but I don't think that's why. My doctor said it had something to do with the synovial fluid that was in there, or at least supposed to be in there and maybe not.

Mine usually only does it when I overexert myself. Maybe be a little nicer to the knees?

Are you on your knees a lot? And I don't mean that I. A dirty way but as a serious question. Like do you do floor work on the stage etc. because that can cause damage to the knee.

I have a crunchy knee problem as well. I have loose cartilage and it floats around in the fluid that is normally in the knee, or something to that effect according to the doc.

It could also be runner's knee. Do you have been going downstairs, or from standing to sitting?

my knee was sore this morning, but is fine now. Im not working, and Ive put on loads of weight, so thought it might just be the joints stressing.
Im breastfeeding and a friend suggested its the relaxin from that.
