    Default Lucid dreaming

Has anyone experienced/achieved this? (and do you just use them for fantasy sexual encounters? )

I did some reading ages ago, about to get back into it in the hope of controlling my dreams, mwahaha! All I remember is the little trick that for some reason stops some people waking up when they realise they are dreaming: stare at the floor and spin round really, really fast til the dream stabilises.

This was before Inception so the phenomenon is so much cooler now.

I find that I have very vivid fucked up dreams when I take ZMA (zinc magnisium-aspartate) you can get it at GNC and other supplement stores.

B12 will give you lucid dreams, very clear & crisp, especially in the injectable form.

I actually took a Dream Analysis psych course in college for fun because I've always been a crazy dreamer! My prof told the class that if you can look at your hands, or at least one hand in your dream, you will be able to achieve lucid control. One way to attempt this is to stare at your hands before you fall asleep, invision them as you fall asleep, etc.

This method never worked for me. I only had one lucid dream ever, and it was prior to the class -- and now that you mention it, smeca, the dream involved a car crash on an iced over pond -- the car was spinning really really fast. I acknowledged it was a dream and was suddenly able to control everything around me. That's bizarre! I'd never heard that spinning around in a dream could induce lucid dreaming, but that definitely makes sense to me now!

Weird, summerbre! I vaguely remember something about hands as well, I think it depends on the person as to what works best.

Oh I forgot, another first step is to write down any dreams you have have a soon as you wake up so you remember them.

I've had crazy lucid dreams but its only half way through a dream I realize I have control and start leading the dream or changing things. I can fly and go faster, slower or over buildings and trees. I've dreamt I am a black man, had black and white dreams, was an asian girl and didn't even speak english... Once had a terrifying dream I was actually reincarnated into a demon spirit and I could control where I flew around but it was terrifying.
When I used to do lots of percs my dreams were awesomee. I miss that lol

There's a movie The Good Night [ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0484111/ ] that I remember has a lot of tips on how to lucid dream in it.

I used to a lot when I was a kid but now not as often, even when I'm aware I'm dreaming I struggle to control them. And yeah, mainly try and use it for sexual fantasies

I frequently have flying dreams. I slowly launch myself off the staircase in the house I grew up in and I can control the flying. It's not fast flying, just sort of gliding but I can steer my body by leaning/tilting. I always wake up feeling very refreshed after those.

Another trick to look around within the dream if you think you're about to wake up. Supposedly your physical eyes will move too and it'll keep you in REM longer. Works for me.

So to anyone who can control their dream, is it a lot of concentration like visualising awake? Or do you just will things to happen and enjoy?

Girl my night life is real exciting! Lol, I like lucid dreaming and it can be used as a stepping stone to astral projection aka separating your spirit self from your physical body. Some don't believe in it, others think it's scary. But here it is if anyone wants to try for themselves..

You just "will" or desire for things to happen and they mostly will. I think nearly everyone has had flying dreams at times and during erotic dreams most people have some control. There are devices that you wear like goggles that can help achieve the state. It senses when you are in REM and LEDs light up over your eyes dimly and possibly flash(I forget now).

Yes, I have..it actually saved my life. I dream in quick 'flashes' I saw an image of a white car, it made me scared/jump up awaken. Later that day, a white car ran a red light, & I nearly had an accident. It's happened in the day too, although its prob. called something else, I was walking down an alley w/my mom (in a nice neighborhood) I felt like something was going to happen, I grabbed her shoulders, pushed her to the side of me, onto a lawn Just then a car came tearing down that alley @ high speed, narrowly missing us

I THINK I've done astral projection. Others call it and outer body experience? I've only done this 2 times...and once was pathetic. They SEEM very real, but now I'm a bit skeptical to the whole idea of it since apparently there's a scientific explanation for OBEs or astral projection. I remember once when I was younger, I used to have a van driver to go to school and I would sneak little naps in before I had to go to school. I fell asleep one time and I had the feeling of rising out of my body. Back then when I dreamed, it was in third person (dunno why) but for some reason I had this in first perspective. Basically I rose out of my body and went outside...I saw people going to work and just usual things one sees outside. Then I suddenly rose to the sky and I had the feeling of my soul (or me) falling back down into my apartment building. The funny thing is I could remember seeing myself going through the ceilings of the different floors and I had a feeling of just 'snapping' back into my body. It was one of the most vivid dreams I've had. This happened when I was 12. Another time, maybe 4 years ago or so...I was deadly tired in my room and was drifting in and out of sleep. I felt that feeling of my soul and body separating but I felt heavy almost, like I couldn't really move the way I wanted to. I could see my room and everything and I tried to go towards the window but I couldn't do it and I just snapped back out of it. I don't know if that's the same thing as lucid dreaming. I don't know if I would be able to lucid dream...I'm not even sure what that is...sometimes I am aware of myself being awake in the dream but what happens is I slowly try to change the dream to fit my own fantasies and what-not...but I don't think I have vivid enough dreams (except the experiences I've mentioned, plus very few other ones) to be able to lucid dream.

World of Lucid Dreaming - Reality Checks
I've been trying to lucid dream. As this site states you have to ground yourself and get in the habit of doing "reality checks" to the point where it will be natural for you to attempt in the dream. The idea is when you do 1 of these you will know if you are dreaming or not. Basically just get in the habit of asking yourself "am I dreaming?" routinely

I've never astral projected But I have dreamt the future many times.

I've been reading about mugwort lately- Someone recommended it to me as an insect repellent, but I found out that it also helps with dreamwork (lucid dreams, remembering dreams, daydreams, astral projection, etc). I did get some pretty amazing visuals when I had mugwort tea before bed. Maybe you can check if it grows in your neighborhood. It's supposed to be pretty common... a lot of people just think it's a weed.

WTF? I tried to lucid dream last night and it was a disaster. In my dream, I was outside in my city and I realized I was dreaming so I tried to think of a different scene and nothing happened, so I started spinning around in circles and still nothing happened. Then out of nowhere this guy is chasing me, so I forced myself to wake up and next thing I know, I'm in sleep paralysis. I wonder why it didn't work ...?

    I feel so dumb. Lol.
