I'm curious what everyone else's club management is like, because I'm not real happy about mine and I'm curious if I'm going to see this everywhere.
When I first started dancing, the different shift managers asked your name if they didn't know you, and that was it. That's what I like. I want to do my shiz, collect my money and go home. I got out for a couple years, came back, and auditioned at 2 clubs. I picked this smaller one because it was closer to my house. The other club I auditioned at has more of "eye-in-the-sky" type management; I'm thinking I need to move over there :/
The management at this club bothers the crap out of me... basically because they won't leave me the eff alone. It's like the 3 of them don't communicate with each other at all; I'm not new to the business, but I had to listen to the "advice for selling" spiel on and off a whole afternoon, and then Manager #2 (who I hadn't worked with yet) wanted to set me up a day (when I don't work days.. I go to school 5 days a week) to "go over a few things". This is frustrating to me, since I'd been there for a whole week and knew the drill, never mind being in the business at different clubs prior. I don't need you to re-iterate the house fees and tip-outs again, buddy. He's also SET on me working days (when I told him I can't) and Manager #1, who IS the night manager, said I could work the mid/night shifts.
I then discovered last weekend that Manager #2 is also referred to as "Slutty *****y" because he sleeps with half the girls, and then that he gets hammered at the bar on weekend nights (which is the LAST time a manager should be drunk, IMO).
Is this normal? Are your managers "in everyone's business" or just in the background making sure everyone's within the rules? Do they hang out at the bar and drink with the customers?
