    Thats a great idea!
But sadly, if they are going look down apon it that much, enough to evict her, i doubt they would belive her,
or would look at it any differently whether it was 2 times or 3000.

You defiantly have to be kind, I doubt this manager will be rude, I could be wrong, but she is also at work.
Just rearrange your furniture. Make it look like a party room if nothing els. (When i had my pole up, i told them i taught dance lessons. )
Not like a wild crazy party room though lol, just like a friend handout place. (Thats if you have the typical string lights and flashers most cam girls do).

Okay, I don't really have any better advice than that which has already been given. But I am curious... - What did you tell them you did for a living when you were looking into renting? Any speak of online work or speak that alluded to yourself working from home? I and my partner both said to the estate agent of the property we are now renting, is that a big reason that we wish to move is because we rely on the internet for our work, and that better quality internet service was located in the property we chose!

And so, I'd claimed my profession as "Online Marketing" (kinda true! lol), and when I showed them my a copy of my tax return, my accountant put my business (my accountant knows I'm a camgirl) as "Web Services"... So.. I'm kinda assuming that my estate agent and landlord know full well that I work from home (that, combined with me telling the estate agent why I'm moving in the first place!), or they just weren't too bothered about looking into my work when they gave me the "okay" and the keys...

However, it is still part of the pre-written (that I have the biggest feeling in the world that no one gives a flying fuck-shit about, and so it's actually shocking when someone does agree with it and even know what it says...) that I am NOT to run a business from home! The only reason I assume anyone would be concerned about their tenants running a business from home, is for disturbance purposes. - Like for example, someone with a business buying and selling, and their street having big old trucks and vans pulling up day and night, causing a disturbance to the neighbors or something.

I know there are ladies here who are homeowners, have bought and taken to renting out their properties. - Any of you bunch care to shed some light on this? Why might you not want someone to run a business from home? x

I have a feeling they are going to ask to OP to prove the occupation she put on her application. Hopefully she put something like online marketing or web services (those are good ones). That way they can't contest working from home without looking dumb (though they will still get their way in court).

Yes, the landlord would care about it for disturbance purposes. But if he thinks you're filming porn, that will be disturbance enough. Yes, people have sex, but for some reason, this is ~*different*~ because suddenly you're a ~*whore*~ who wants to fuck anything that moves. Lol our world.

Wow, I think you should hide all your lights, cameras and dildos, and if they ask abt the toys just say is it a crime for a single woman to own sex toys? Damn are they illegal. Of course try to be nice but I wouldn't admit to camming or anything. B/c people do consider it porn even though we don't like to admit it. I would say I do web design work or online marketing .. but never admit to camming or video producing!!!!! That's crazy I never knew they would discriminate like that & makes me want to be super careful abt where I move. I wish u the best & keep us updated

How sad and strange it is, that in many instances in our lives it is actually much easier, a few tons less problematic and less disruptive to your relationships and quality of life to claim that you're obsessed with masturbation or are a sex addict, than it is to tell the simple truth about your job...

    What a shitty situation.

As far as the "running a business from your home" thing...sheesh, it's not like you're running a freakin' factory with loud-ass machines in the middle of your living room. And really, you're in charge of an internet chatroom...nothing wrong with that. As long as you're not having scream-at-the-top-of-your-lungs orgasm, what's the harm? If someone happens to come across your sex toys, for all they know that could just be for your own PERSONAL time (everybody gets horny, right?).

I mean, what's next? Are they gonna tell you "Sorry, you're not allowed to please yourself to the point of orgasm in your home." Only married couples living here can have sex. SMH.

LOL! If I was ever in a situation where someone saw my toys sitting out, I'd probably just take the "Well, I'm a single woman, and I have needs" route. And then be like "And why were you snooping around in my bedroom anyway, Nancy Drew?" LMAO.

P.S. Regarding my Nancy Drew joke...I DO NOT recommend making a catty remark like that to the landlord though...lol. Since we're talking about a person who has the power to have you evicted, I agree with ThatBitch that you should just be nice enough to the landlord to make all this bullshit go away. You don't have to kiss ass, but just stay on their good side, and just avoid giving out "porn-y" information about your job. They don't need to know all the details.

Theres a lot going on here and Im a little hesitant to post because I think by now shes already spoken to them today. Also she wasnt really clear about what she said to them the first time, she never said what she told them when she moved in (if she had a vanilla job or she lied about her camming). I dont know if she cleaned up/altered her place.

So its just a lot of speculation and I hate posting speculation.

Re- tenancy laws and the maintenance guy entering like that. Sadly theres nothing she can really do if its a crappy place like she described. I know here on SW were all about r-e-s-p-e-c-t and our rights and not taking crap. But the reality is, in a situation like that- a crappy rental place and tenancy laws- Meh. Theres nothing she can do. Theyre suppose to notify her. The guy wasnt suppose to come in like that. They dont respect the rules. Theres nothing she can do but move to a place that does. To fight it is mostly a losing battle. You cant call the police. You cant report them. The only thing she can do is report the local manager to the main management company. its a crappy company so they wont care.

She can move out with out notice and they will keep her deposit and she can fight for it back in court and most likely get it back because they violated tenancy laws by entering w/o notice but its going to cost her court fees and time and aggravation. They know this, thats why they do it.

If something had happened (the guy walked in on her in the shower) or assaulted her- totally different story. She could sue them. It didnt so her only recourse is to leave and if they dont give her her deposit back to fight for it back in court because they violated the rules first so she had the right to leave.

Since her lease is up in May I think, shed have to consider if she wants to do that. If she can afford to do it and if its worth it. For her fighting in court is not going to be 'pleasant' because they will probably attempt to smear her by bringing up the fact that they saw sex toys in her unit even though its irrelevant and has nothing to do with the fact that they entered with out notice. Most likely the judge will let a few sentences in about it because people are stupid like that. Its one of those things where its 'fascinating' to people. Like juicy gossip. You know its wrong and inappropriate and it doesnt belong, but because its sensational you hear it first and then say OK, thats irrelevant, Im going to disregard it now.

    -

If I was her I would not alter the apartment severely. It makes it seem like she was doing something and is attempting to hide it. If she has what we call a studio couch- well thats her couch. She has a computer desk next to it- Well, she keeps her computer right there in the living room because thats how she chooses to live. She can decorate her unit any way she sees fit. The only thing I would do is add to it. Add personal things that arent usually in a cam space to it instead of trying to remove cam items from it and make it look like a traditional living room if it is not.

Traditional living spaces have pictures of family, books, personal products- maybe nail polish- you know add stuff that shows you sit there and surf online. You relax on the couch, you eat on the couch, you nap on the couch, you have a pillow and blanket. Bring personal stuff from the bedroom into the cam space.

The "i was making a personal video for a BF and am highly offended at your implication and intrusion in my personal life" statement at the first mention of what was going on by management shouldve been the first statement and should be the consistent theme.

They have no right to interfere in her personal life or to judge her. If they do suspect that she is violating the lease by running a business (which is seems they do) they will start harassing her. Checking on her by coming by and attempting entry when theyre not suppose to to fix things that arent broken. And again her only recourse would be to leave with out notice.

She needs to put a chain on the door for when shes inside. Its not against the lease (it shouldnt be) An additional lock with out the key probably is, but a chain most likely isnt. Maybe not even a chain because a chain you can kind of open the door slightly and see in, but they have like a bar slider thats kind of the same thing, or a latch. If she goes to the hardware store she can find something for under 5 dollars and install it herself with a screwdriver.

When shes not at home, she needs to make sure she puts all her toys away and the cam incase they come in so it doesnt look like she was just shooting a porno and stepped away for a moment.

Theyll probably keep their eye on her for a few weeks and then get bored and move on to someone else to harass.

Actually, in Texas, yes they are. It is a felony to own 6 or more dildos. Texas has some absurd laws but it is what it is.

^ Actually, to dispel the rumor on that, that law was repealed n 2008. :p But it IS absurd.

^ I don't live in Texas but I thought the repeal was ignored recently in Corpus Christi? At least the courts there are not honoring the federal ruling, it seems like a whole big mess and I'd just be really, really careful.

I would've denied, denied, denied and wrote a formal letter to the owner about accusations from their administrative staff and the "prying" eyes and unprofessional-ism of their maintenance staff. It's completely absurd that they barged in without notice (if it was their fault and not yours) and then ratted on you. You still have rights as a tenant. I bet if you denied it and complained about the maintenance staff snooping they would've written them up or fired them.

It's no ones business what the fuck I do in my home or apartment as long as I'm not harming anyone, law or no law. If you didn't get a notice, they weren't invited and if you did, well, you should've kept your shit on lock. However, it seems you didn't know they were coming in so I wish you the best. I don't mean to throw people under the bus but if I was a tenant and some douche guys "caught" my toys out and about and a "set" I'd deny it and report them for snooping. I'd say that what adult items I own is no ones business and I thought that my items appeared rearranged and I found it filthy that my panties looked sorted through as well.

They straight ratted you out. They have no proof and unless you have proof of drugs in your home, maintenance people are usually let go of before a tenant as you are the one paying to live there. If I'm going down I may as take someone with me if it's like that

Camming is porn. There is a huge difference between shooting a video for personal use and logging online and doing cam shows. SM records many of the cam shows to use for their affiliate program, most cam sites record the shows as well. So yes, it is filmed and not just streaming video.

I think some of you are a bit paranoid about evictions.

If you admit to filming sex acts for your own personal enjoyment, it would become "filming porn for your own personal enjoyment" and all a landlord would think is "filming porn in a building I own is not acceptable, I will evict them!"

I'm so sorry that happened! Honestly, I would want to move out anyway, because it sounds like you have a landlord that is breaking all kinds of laws.

The thing about what is "legal" is that it depends on where you are. In BC, the tenancy act is incredible, and basically designed to protect the tenant. In other places, the tenancy laws can just be useless. Best advice - read up on your own local tenancy laws and know your rights.

One thing that is usually standard is that unless it is an emergency, they MUST give you at least 24hrs notice before entering your apartment. Frankly, if it was me, and given where I am, you can bet your ass I would be going through the tenancy board right now to take them to court for a breach of lease, and of privacy. FUCK THAT.

As for the business thing - it really does depend on your lease, and on where you are. As others have said, the definition of "running a business" is a bit of a grey area. Sometimes it refers to having customers physically enter and leave, something that would need a business license. Sometimes it can refer to working from home. Again - check local legislation.

Much as it sucks - I hope that today went well.

Bear in mind that if they are trying to evict you, they need a DAMN good reason. Make sure you know your rights in terms of damage deposits, and what you are owed if you are evicted for running a business. Sadly, if it was in your lease that you couldn't do it, you may not be entitled to anything - but you will still be entitled to a certain length of notice. Make sure you get it.

Live and learn, right. This is one of the reasons that I ALWAYS encourage girls to be honest about working from home, if not always about exactly what you do. Ideally, you want to be totally honest, and to do it in writing, to cover your ass. At the bare minimum, I always make it clear that I work from home, so that even if it is in the lease, I have written permission for what I do.
I take cash, debit or credit. I just don't take shit.

OK so i went to the meeting today at 9am but they told me to come around 3pm so the main manager will be there. Well i knew what is about to happen. SO i went there at 3pm, and once again they asked me a lot of questions, What do I do for work - I told them I am a nanny and i take care of my best friend child for right now, and I am looking for a job. They said they asked my neigbours if they noticed any noises or disturbance. Well one of my neighbour said that he noticed "whinning" and "moaning" at night time. I told them i am single and its my buissness what i do at my house and have toys and pleasure myself. It was kinda crazy they were serious, But they were like "we really think that something is going on at your house, thats why we would like you to leave our apartment complex" !!!! I said they would have to prove it to me and show me some proves that I do something like that !!! The stuff pest control guy came in to the meeting !!!! I felt so embarassed !! He said to a manager "I go to a lot of apartments everyday to do pest control inspection, and i see a lot of different apartments everyday, but in her apt I noticed definietly something suspicious and it looked like a studio" I WILL post a picture to u guys so u see what he saw when he came it"

Well ok i said i dont wanna have any problems and I would rather leave !!! They told me that they dont wanna "investigate it anylonger" and they are giving me 2 months so move out" So they dont wanna evict me but rather Me break the lease and just move out. I signed a 2 months notice. I gotta move out of here by april 15th !!! I will have to pay march and april's rent in full !!! well I didnt wanna argue with them and at least they dont want court procedings !!!! They said if I leave apartment in a great condition, pay march and aprils rent in full and move out by april 15th they will be ok. I really didnt wana argue with anyone I just agreed to everything, but i never admited that i am camming. I just learnt my lesson and my next apt will be a bigger apt complex !!!! cause the one that i live right now is small community and most of the people live there for a while and they all know each other !!! s maybe its better if i move out and start a new life, and BE very carefull !!!

I worked at a complex like that. Thank god I got fired

I would sue them honestly. I would be so pissed that I would take the time and money to sue them. First off because they just barged into your apartment...assuming youre a single women who lives alone that is dangerous to not know who is welcoming themselves into your apartment. Second off because you are being asked to move for something so ridiculous. I would look over your documents and find out what exact things you can be asked to move out for. Then again since you signed papers already you might not be able to do anything.

Re evictions and camming/ filming porn/ tenancy laws - in the US, it comes down to 3 things- profits, kids and zoning laws.

Almost every residential lease in the US will not allow the tenant to run a business from the unit. It would be very rare for the lease to allow it. It has to do with insurance and zoning regulations. If you are a renter, you should check the lease. Camming from home is a business, so if you cam from home, you are running a business. If you cam from an apartment, chances are you are violating your lease. Is it illegal to violate your lease? No, but you can be kicked out and they can possibly keep your security deposit. It would depend on the lease you signed.

Re zoning laws: Filming porn is not against the law in most cases. Providing the parties are over 18 and the content is 'vanilla' (not bestiality/scat/obscene etc) Thats why sites have disclaimers to check your local laws and you are responsible for broadcasting/your content. You can film yourself doing anything you like as long as its for your own personal use. The problem is when you collect profit for it. Then it becomes a business. Film it in a residential area where zoning laws prohibit such filming and you have a problem. Film it when you have children in the home- you have a problem.

Filming for profit with children in the home in a residential area in violation of your lease and zoning laws- and you get caught- you have lots of problems.

Most camgirls are never caught or bothered because its not something that they advertise they do publicly. But the laws are there if someone wanted to bust your balls and make trouble for you.

If youre a single mom camgirl and you have kids in the home an ex can make trouble for you. If you have neighbors who disapprove zoning laws can cause issues for you.(either running a business in a residential area, or shooting porn w/o a permit) If youre violating your lease by running a business and they find out about it, you can be evicted.

yea I already signed the papers and agreed on moving out by april 15th !!! I think that its not fair what happend !! but its my fault toooo. I felt like its better to agree on signing the papers and move out rather than trying to prove them something, there were kinda ignorant and very conservative. They started telling me how christian their community is, and most of the people are older age people. Well, it is messed up, the meeting was like 30 minutes long, and mentally i just could take it because I felt like i dont reserve it and It better if i wil be away from them. When i first rented this apartment i was a finacial aid from my college !!! so as a accupation in a application I had "student", later on when i extended my lease they didnt ask me again about the occupation even tho i was already camming, and thats why i stayed in those apt cause i needed time to get some "bank statements" so next time when i wanna rent somewhere else i will have a stable income proof.

The pictures say it all, I mean if i showed those pictures to a stranger that doesnt know me, he would say it looks like somethig is going on !!! well, i am glad they dont wanna sue me or anything and trust me I wish i could just tell them many things in their faces but i dont want tis situation to be worst.

Yup. Before we were telling her to "play nice" with the landlord to avoid any further drama, but now that they've flat out told her to move out...fuck all that. I am so angry for her, and I would LOVE IT if she could sue the bastard(s).
