Default When customers ask "do you like your job?"

What do you say? Back when I was a newbie I used to give a big grin and say yes and list a few reasons why. I don't do this anymore, not because I don't like dancing but I've started consciously steering clear of the expected answers. Now when they ask i say "yeah it's all right" because that's how I really feel and it seems more real to them.

when I first started dancing I thought guys liked fake over-the-top enthusiasm but I'm realizing now and maybe it's just me but it helps more to tone it down. Saying "oh yeah! I love making my own schedule, getting naked, and listening to music all night" seems more like you're trying to convince them you like it.

I just say it pays my bills plus I'm practically my own boss and I can drink and run around in my undies.

I know what you mean!Sometimes I'm over enthusiastic-also it annoys me if I say yes and some dullard says 'I don't think you do' I've even gone all out sarcastic and said 'Ace!A man who knows more about me than I do!How intelligent must you be!!' lol.
I tend to say, 'Yeh, It's a pretty good job really!' Or something like that-then ask him what he does...

^Not always! Guys ask this question all the time... Some are just curious, especially the younger ones. Or, if you don't seem like a typical "stripper" to them, then they'll ask. Or, if they're trying to make you feel like shit, which some ass hats do.

I usually say I love it because it lets me have the time to do other things I love (writing, metal work, laying on the beach with 70 SPF all over my pale ass body!), which are all pretty solitary -- so work is my party time! This seems to satisfy most of the deeper reasons for asking the question. It gives you depth and makes you more real, but still shows that you're happy, without being over-the-top about it. For the guys that are trying to understand you better, they're able to glean some info about your real life. For guys that are trying to differentiate you from the "typical" stripper, they can focus on your hobbies. For guys that are trying to make you feel like shit, you've said your piece to stick up for yourself, then you can just walk away!

As for the captain save-a-hoes, they'll probably never be deterred from their oh-so noble quest.
“The irony of commitment is that it's deeply liberating -- in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around like rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life.”

ABC - always be closing! I'm not there to convince them I'm not "fake" by not being overly enthusiastic about liking my job. I'm also not there to convince them I'm deep or anything. I'm there to get their money, so I try not to let the conversation stray too far from sexy topics, especially into personal ones that are indicative of a time waster.

So, do I like my job? "I love getting to meet so many interesting people like you, babe! And it's so much fun getting naked and being sexy... Are you ready to let me show you how much fun I have here?"

Yeah, I've noticed that guys are wary of the overenthusiastic response, or are quick to call you a liar if you act too happy about stripping. Remember, the majority of customers cannot wrap their head around the concept of a sane, healthy, happy stripper who is there because she chooses to be, not because her pimp is forcing her. I honestly think a lot of them ask the question as a way to suss out your "real-ness" level, and since they already have a preconceived notion of strippers hating their jobs/lives, if you say you are actually happy in that profession, they immediately call bullshit and chalk it up to a hustle. Or they ask because you seem "too good to be there," so they wonder what your motivations could possibly be, and maybe if you are in need of "saving."

So for most customers, I act content and say that it has many benefits for my lifestyle right now, but then usually throw in my plans for other jobs/future career goals/continued schooling and make it sound like I have loftier goals. I think it's a nice middle ground - they don't get the impression that you hate being there and talking to them, but they can placate themselves that you are not just "wasting your potential," which would make them oh-so sad lol

At first, I was too honest and said that it's an odd fit, because I'm naturally very introverted and don't "go out" much. Cue them saying something like, "Really? Well, let me take you out tomorrow!" Bad territory. Now, if I were asked, I'd probably say something like, "A girl's gotta eat, and at least I like the dress code." Positive, but still vague enough and it goes back into "pay me because I'm half-naked" territory.

I tell them of course I love it. I get to:
-meet interesting people every night (it indirectly strokes his ego)
-hang out in my underwear all night because im a total exhibitionist
-party with my bffs all night
-drink on the job, I especially love the different champagne bottles we can choose from for vip
-this one's optional: I get the flexibility to travel wherever and whenever I want (a great way to begin a conversation on travel which ive found is what $$ customers love to talk about)

who cares if I hate the job and only do it for the $$. we are selling a fantasy and that includes us being excited about everything about our job.

i find when im over-enthusiastic ( which i really am about stripping in reality. im annoyingly enthusiastic) guys love it. they aren't here to hear about complaints and the pressures of the real world they are here for a fantasy and to be made happy. telling them the truth about why i love dancing is easy for me and most of them seemed surprised because they are constantly around girls who bitch about their lives and of course can't imagine a girl who love their stripping job. even if i hated if i wouldn't say so..that would be a turn off to be like " welp its a job just like what you have that you probably hate, i don't really like my job, giving guys like you dances, or getting naked, but hey want a dance?? even though you know ill be miserable the whole time" hellllll no. i enjoy breaking down the stereotypes about how all dancers are forced into this , and at the same time making them believe i LOVE grinding on them and getting naked. who wants a girl getting naked for you that you know is miserable about it,( unless you are some cold sociopath). guys come there for the fantasy. i always make a point to never complain about anything. trophy stripper nailed it. that's just what works for me though

"Well, it sure beats being in a crummy ship with hundreds of men wanting to fondle me for free don't you think? At least in here is just about a dozen and I get paid for it." That's what I used to tell my customers when I started dancing in Virginia three years ago. I haven't been asked that question in a while.

Yep to all of the above. I even think toneing in some "realness" can add to your sense of mystery..who hasnt wondered what that girl sitting near you on the bus looks like naked? Multiple dimensions are what make people interesting..so to be smart & funny & enjoying your sexuality is quite a combo. In asking hes already curious..give hhim more to be curious about!
I usually tell them about how before i started i couldnt see myself doing it (this lets us relate a bit) and then how once i started it opened up a new world for me. Talking about traveling like charlotte mentioned, any depth you add makes you a more exotic creature, while one part of his mind is trying to imagine you backpacking europe solo its not going to be hard for him to want to spend some time alone & see what your like in the back.

I basically tell them "the truth" without getting into the ugly part of the truth. I keep it simple and say something along the lines of, "well, it's stressful sometimes, as you can imagine, but I make good money and pick my own schedule so I really can't complain!" In a nutshell, that's the truth.
