I had a spot on my vulva that I got paranoid about so I've been for a check to make sure it's not something sinister, Dr told me she's almost 100% sure It's not herpes and is 100% sure I don't have warts (I was mega paranoid about that seeing as I seem prone to getting lumps and bumps on my bits, and she took a smear test too as I was due one. She did however say that due to my job, I may want to be vaccinated against Hep B. She said she wasn't able to offer it to everybody but only those she thinks are at a larger risk of being exposed to the virus, than the general population.
Anybody else been offered this?
I'm wary about it-I've heard the vaccine can increase the risks of Multiple Scerosis, Osteoporosis and some other things as well as having bad but not dangerous side effects. What do you guys think?
Are we more prone to contracting Hep B?
I suppose a few guys have tried to bite my nipples and stuff... But even when they've succeeded its never been anywhere near hard enough to draw blood.. I'm just not sure.. In a way I feel privileged to have been offered it as Hep B is a terrible illness but also, I'm not sure I want to do it. It's a lengthy process as well, three jabs over a course of a year I think then a test for immunity at the end of the course...
