Default Exp with letting hmrc about quitting being self-employed?

I'm done with camming - men are annoying as hell and the money isn't worth it.

i started slamming June-July, did the tax form and paid around October-November (I think). Do I still need to do another of those forms for this tax year, even though I'm quitting before April?

i figured I need to ring them to tell them I'm stopping being 'self employed'. Do they ask questions ? If so what?

    Thanks x

What is hmrc? I'm not really sure why you would be calling anyone about anything if you decide to quit camming. You don't have to report job changes to the IRS....

hmrc is the UK tax authority Sarah. http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/dealingwith/c...l-business.htm should help a bit. I always found HMRC to be helpful on the phone so maybe best to contact them to clear up any confusion abou what you need to do.

Because of tax etc. I declared myself as self employed, and their website says that I must report any changes to my 'business' or if I close/sell the 'business'

You do need to tell them and you will need to complete a tax return for the period that you were self employed...I don't know what questions they'll ask you though.

I'm guessing you're a sole trader but you would have told them that when you registered as self-employed.

Ok thank you! And is it ok to say I'm a website designer (I remember saying something along the lines of that when registering)?

They don't tell future employers about your self employment history. You may want to stick to same line as you've already told them that but it is lying to them, I don't know why girls think that it is a good idea to lie to a government body when they make it so clear that they will hang, draw and quarter you if you do.

You could be economical with the truth and say you are an entertainer. That covers everything from actors to dancers and Ofc cam girls you could save yourself tax by writing off a percentage of outfits and heating/rent/electricity/broadband/webcams/computers. You are a business!

Yes entertainer that's what I put on my form! Thank you!
Will I need any specific tax numbers on hand or anything? The website doesn't give much away, and I don't wanna spend ages on the phone as its not free phone

They will ask you what originally said that you do. This is part of them confirming that you are who you say you are.

Hold on. I'm confused. You say you started in June ish 2012? That is tax year 6th April '12 until 5th April 2013. That year isn't finished yet, and the money owed from that period is due up until 31st Jan 2014. You paid them in November? Are you perhaps talking about a National Insurance contributions payment?

You will need your UTR (unique tax reference) the ten digit number which will be on all correspondence they have sent you.

Vlodina is right...you will still have tax to pay.
