    Default Dog Question

I have a 3 lb chihuahua rescue whom I love soooo much. I think he broke his leg tonight. He hurt it last Fri but could still walk on it. Things were better but tonight he can't even walk on it. I am going to take him to the vet in the am as soon as they open.

My question is...does anyone have any idea how much a broken leg on a dog costs at the vet? Obviously, I love my dog and would pay and amount of money to make him feel better, but I think I could sleep better tonight if I knew at least a ballpark amount. If anyone knows, please let me know.

    Thank you!

depends on your vet. If you have one that's not into extortion, and the dog has just a simple bone that needs to be set and cast, it might be as low as $200.
If surgery or multiple surgeries are necessary, it could go as high as $2000 or more.

I would say, since your dog could walk on it, and isn't freaking out in pain (it is in pain, but it hasn't crossed the threshold where it can no longer hide the pain) you're
    looking at maybe $500-1000.

I'm just aiming high because it differs from vet to vet.

Does your dog let you touch the leg?

Aww I'm sorry, I stress out so much when my pet is sick/hurt.. and then yeah, the cost is always this worrisome looming bill lol Do you have banfield pets near you? It's part of the Petsmart company. I've been to a LOT of vets and this place was the cheapest and best run place. They let you put it on an extended payment plan if the surgery is too much or you just want to split it up. I love it here, they take an emergency first always. I've been to place that expect you to sit for an hour when your pet is near death, hell no. I want my pet looked at right then, not later, after paperwork, etc.

I would totally recommend this place, good luck I would expect anywhere from 200-1000.
